no, to apply multiple layers and apply them wet (the primer is supposed to look "glossy" when applied, and only turns matt or satin when drying. If the primer already looks matte when you just sprayed it then it dried midair.

You actually have to be way more careful when priming with rattlecans. Airbrush priming is very forgiving when it comes to the models themselves.

I dont get a lot of the comments here about the primer tbh.

I have used PA Black primer for over a year now as my only primer.

It has only ever ONCE flaked off and that was 100% my fault because I didnt wait for a gloss varnish to cure, then applied a lot of micro sol for a decal and rubbed the paint, varnish and primer off with a brush after rough handling.

My steps to priming:

• I always thin primer 1:2-3 (2-3 parts primer, 1 part Vincey Vs airbrush thinner mix)
• fat full first coat on one side, go to next side, etc, then upside and downside. Then return to first side (as its dry enough by now) and go over it again. Repeat this 3-4 times ( same procedure I have always done with spray can primer as well).
• I never varnish after primer. I only ever varnish before decals or oils or after i used inks through an airbrush

I do however always wear gloves and pretty much never touch or barely ever touch the models (exceptions are eyes e.g.) while painting because the Artis Opus Egg painting handle is actually goated.

Also I barely every wait more than 30 minutes to paint after priming. I only wait for gloss varnishes to cure fully.
