It’s amazing how advanced Sony and Panasonic were at making portable devices back then, all just to be replaced by circuit boards and cheap screens.

I was there last week and these are great tips. The Suica card on the iPhone is a thing to have, as it can also be used in most shops and even some vending machines, making it really convenient.

We were able to get same day Shibuya Sky tickets by scanning the QR code in the lobby even though they had signs up saying they were sold out - so if you’re not able to get in on your preferred date, it can be worth trying again day-of in the morning. (the available times were around noon, which isn’t the most desirable time in August…)

When using the Subway in Tokyo the cars and exists are numbered. So if you’re using Google Maps it’s very easy to get on a specific train car and to enter and exit from a specific access point. Definitely one of the best transportation systems I’ve used.
