holy shit it's more than my rent and food now.

i'm super confused where grafana would come into this.
aquoad
HHS will just declare it doesn’t count if it’s AI

I don't have the energy or motivation to switch things. I'll probably keep using my small amount of existing zigbee and esphome wifi stuff until it starts breaking, and then switch to whatever the new hotness is then. I don't care about staying up to date with the tech for its own sake.

sasquatch flavored

that sounds like an improvement, really

"Hey i crashed because my brakes didn't work!"
"They didn't lock up, did they?? See??"

Cry me a river.
even if you were making a good point, this makes you sound like a dick.
aquoad
for real? Like they actively want to bring back segregation??
aquoad
that's what i'm thinking, too. Just noticed there's even a Homeassistant integration for it!
aquoad
turned it off immediately because it requires the phone to be unlocked by face id to do anything at all, which defeats the purpose of hands free use.

I wish we could have these not AI colorized and upscaled. It feels fake.

Is there anything in practical terms that would stop them from just deciding not to pay it?
aquoad
I did. I told them I couldn't see most reviews on products and then asked them to cut and paste me the reviews for various random products until i guess they got tired of it. I got asked to "hold on" a lot but never had the chat spontaneously disconnect on me, it just was idle for a while and they'd say "please be patient" etc.
They eventually transferred me between two or three different reps (they seemed like humans following a script rather than ai bots, fwiw) and eventually one said they would return my review access and i would get a $100 courtesy credit for the inconvenience. Sometime later in the day I started being able to see the full reviews again and i did actually get the credit and was able to spend it.

yeah no thanks.

if the questioner wanted Gemini's take on it, they could have asked Gemini themselves.

pæssy
aquoad
yeah and imo it's a lot more interesting.
aquoad
yes, but you have to a stanford degree and some reputation
aquoad
for making them angry, i think

and nobody "exploits the system" like wealthy grifters. all the welfare cheats in the country don't add up to even one defense industry grifter.

holy shit thats worse than my old roommate's motorcycle sprocket, he had to get a running start to get moving or else the chain would slip over the bumps.

That doesn't stop it from creating detections there. i think Settings -> Configuration/Settings -> Cameras -> Review -> Review Classification -> "Select Zones for Detections" is supposed to be enabled and a zone selected, and then I think it's supposed to only do detections for motion inside that zone.
But my understanding seems to be incomplete, because I still get detections (i think that's what they're called? under the looking glass "Explore" sidebar tab?) for motion anywhere in the camera's field of view, even when it doesn't pass through the required zone. So there might be some other setting required as well.
I wish I could find intelligent discussion about it beyond the obvious ("it needs to be fixed") Like, I want to know what a transition to single payer would look like - does everyone just get to sign up for medicare? Is it staged in tranches or all at once? Are any scraps thrown to the existing healthcare industry conglomerates, or are they all just dissolved/liquidated? What about hospitals and clinics - hospital upper management seems complicit, do they also get taken over? I want to know what this could actually look like, because what I don't want it to look like is the status quo but with different billing.
