You might not need a referral at all for pain management, depending on where you love. I know I didn't (I'm in Arkansas, USA). Just call them directly to make an appointment and bring the MRI report.

Also you should definitely get a referral to a neurosurgeon. Severe stenosis with debilitating symptoms is when surgery is very likely needed.

I think you're probably selling your friend short by assuming he would "lose his mind and def leave her". That is not a normal response to someone simply finding out their fiance was intimate with someone else before. If he actually does that he is not a good person.

C3 to C7 ACDF. Had two separate surgeries a year apart. Doing much better pain-wise and I have much less body tingling since. I think swallowing and voice problems from the surgery are usually temporary. I used to be a stomach sleeper too, but I had to stop years ago due to neck pain anyway. Now I couldn't if I wanted to because my head won't turn far enough, lol.
