It arrived.
I've only loaded up a single clean rom (one that I found impossible to load previously), and I'm already impressed enough that I just ordered another.
I mean, it actually has a proper spring-loaded microSD slot, and the microSD sits below the edge of the flashcart - both of which put it above the r4i-sdhc.com card (which I paid twice the price for!) in terms of build quality.
The presence of the pin guides and a securing screw, both of which could have been cost-engineered out, also make this feel like a much better device.
In my NDSL I notice it bypasses the H&S screen and autoboots, no matter what your settings are. Nifty.
PCB layout and screenprint look identical to the OP.
Diagnostic test states Now SuperCard DS Version: English Ver1.01
I don't know what the deal is with the small button cell. It was totally dead on arrival, and showed 2.5v after being in a powered-on NDSL for a while, but is quickly self-discharging. Can anyone comment on what the correct expected behaviour is for the original DSONEi?
EDIT: My success rate getting a second card has been poor. Out of 4 orders total, I now have 3 dead cards, each faulty in a diferent way. It's fortunate that the first card is fine, since it makes it easy to prove to the seller that the problems are not caused by the microSD card or kernel.

I'm curious to know your estimate of how many times you proof-read and refactored your comment before posting, perhaps even making edits immediately after.

Ah ok, credit to RGF then. I'll have to trawl RGF's GBAtemp posts and glean what I can about the internals.
Being realistic, I don't expect to build anything new here, but this info is starting to disappear. It would be good to make some sense out of the noise and preserve it so that roms can be played on real hardware in a few decades.

So, I assume to fully profile a card we would need; PCB images with enough detail to show component part numbers (so we can say which are really the same hardware), dump of the firmware, enough info to identify the kernel files (i.e. the website shown on the card label) compatible with that hardware-firmware combo.
What I need to go find out is whether the firmware used across identical hardware revisions is also functionally identical, or if there are differences that prevent a bunch of different kernels being used across a family of cards.
I guess Yasu had figured much of this out, but their site has been down since 2015 and source/docs were never released.

The kernel files being identical makes sense. According to this, the only difference between the DSONEi and DSONEi mini is that the mini was not bundled with a USB firmware writer.

After some frustrating results with an r4i-sdhc.com card (stock and YS kernel), coincidentally I have ordered something that looks identical to this on the AliExpress listing - mainly because it was the cheapest card I could find that was obviously a different design from my existing card (microSD slot placement). I will see how it compares.

Is there a consistent way to identify each design of DS flashcart, independent from the branding?
I can imagine the PCB layout and components used is a pretty good start, but then the firmware (actually loaded into a chip ROM, not the kernel loaded to the microSD) could also be different across cards with the same PCB design.
I just took some photos of my current 'r4i-sdhc.com' cart PCB, and found that one of the chips is a chip-on-board (sealed in black resin). Another is a 95010 EEPROM chip, so possible to dump it I guess.
EDIT: Scratch that, I'm clearly too much of a combination of lazy and busy to do a proper search. One of the other chips is labelled as FT25H16W which is a flash chip, and there is some activity on GBAtemp to dump these firmwares. Here is one example that has almost identical PCB layout.

uptoke, it's also worth considering that resin condensing along the unburned portion of a joint is then re-burned (or even vaped by the radiated heat of the cherry as it progresses). Compared to a pipe or bong, which has a large area that we (usually) clean off, the roach is a tiny unburned area....[4] - not sure if I'm making sense.
The main reason I use a pipe (a little brass one-hitter) is because I need to keep my living area from smelling of smoke, I don't have a kitchen door because of the house design so I can't isolate from any soft furnishings. My smoking consists of standing at the back door, taking a burn, then stepping outside to exhale (depends how dark and cold it is outside).

Are there any sites that allow users to indicate prices in their area? Looking for a new project to write in python as a learning exercise. Don't wanna reinvent the wheel and all. I figure I could just do a mashup with google maps to provide the geographical part.
EDIT: this should have really been in reply to ABMarley's post...

Sounds legit.

From the looks of it, you drink a beer every time you take one of your opponents pieces. Thus, the winner imbibes more booze as the game progresses. Certainly a nice way of implementing a handicap...

Indeed, for non-perishables. Canals were especially useful in Britain for transporting coal, it's all about the pipelining.

So, it's a Google product?
Digging around, I found the roster with a different translation: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/mahousenseinegima/images/6/6e/ClassChartEpilogue.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20120320161813
Though I don't know where it comes from. My Vol. 38 roster is from Kodansha, with translation by Aletha and Athena Nibley.
In it, the comment for Yukihiro-san states 'uncle' rather than 'grandfather'. I guess the original Japanese was ojisan or ojiisan, and it was perhaps mistranslated.
