Doesn't look like anyone told here that thesurname of a guy on the left is "Mažylis", which roughly translates as "little".

Edit: the 80 might have been design by a third bureau in Moscow.
It was designed by bureau in Leningrad.

From Wikipedia:
Koshkin chose the name after the year 1934, when he began to formulate his ideas about the new tank, and to commemorate that year's decree expanding the armoured force and appointing Sergo Ordzhonikidze to head tank production.
aurisc4
And the T-34 came out in 1940.
The work on it started in 1934, hence the name. The name usually has something to do with year (work started, accepted into service or anything around), though not always. I.e. light tank T-70 or heavy T-10 have nothing to do with year. The later probably has something to do with order (it is a continuation of IS series, the was IS-1, IS-2, IS-3, etc., some were probably just prototypes).

Prohibiting torrents is insanity. Torrents is just a technology.

Which means my country will continue to be high on "pirates" list, as some content will simply be unavailable here. Nice...

The Stryker+Tr can be airlifted by the C-130, C-141, C-5 and C-17 transport aircraft. It can be deployed anywhere in the world within 96 hours.
C-130????
38t can be lifted by an airplane with a 20t payload? How?
LOL

Mirage 5, which is itself designed from Mirage III.
French truly have a weird naming for them (III, IV, 5, F1, 2000, 4000)

What can be written in JavaScript, eventually will be written in JavaScript, for better or worse... Usually for worse...

Of course yes, because of all PITA things about checked exceptions try-catch syntax is the smallest. By far.

In the news I've read that there is some 1973 treaty forbidding certain "attack-style" flights. They say this one is of that manner.

It's almost enough to know that multiplication & division takes precedence over add/subtract, pointer dereference is higher than multiplication. Just use parentheses for everything else and don't confuse people.
Bonus: ternary operator is confusing enough on it's own, using it inside expression is asking for trouble IHMO.

8 Lack of variety in skill level. I.e. have team of only senior level devs and plenty of trivial tasks any junior level dev could do.

Depends how you look at it. IMO cavalry hasn't gone anywhere, they simply replaced horses by vehicles. In some countries tank units even have the names that were once cavalry names.
aurisc4
How many times have tanks been declared 'thing of the past' before?

Looks like this is about the same thing, but has more details.

Well, customer should pay for those better services when buying software. Bus customer shouldn't be charged extra for a bug fix.
aurisc4
They DO buy buying your software. If you forgot to add it to your price tag, that's your problem.
It's normal thing to sell software with certain warranty period, during which bugs are fixed for free. Assuming a warranty period of a reasonable length.
As for "that's not what I asked for": there is something very wrong with your agreement with the customer. You should make such agreement that it is in the best in best interest of both parties to ensure requirements are clear.

D'Oh... an example how to make big deal of trivial things.
Simply ask yourself this question: if the test has never failed, how do you know it actually tests anything?
Bonus: this has nothing to do with TDD

And localization.
