We lost our golden retriever Yoshi a couple years ago. My Wife was really close to him, they were best friends. One day I got home from work and saw my Wife & Yoshi in our backyard sitting on the grass just starring at our large pond enjoying life together. I took a picture while they were unaware and sent it to my Wife. Her initial reaction was "why are you taking pictures of me without me knowing". When we finally had to put down our best buddy she made a very sweet Instagram post and used that very image. So yes, I agree, take pictures and lots of them.
