Punches to the head, particularly sucker punches to it (impacting the sides or back) can be fatal. Or at the very least very bad for you, getting knocked out is bad fucking news for your brain. Even if this one wasn't, it's a chickenshit move to attack someone off guard.

Are we trying to prevent people from feeling shame now?
No one's arguing that it's not a horrible dick move by horrible people. They're arguing that there's a huge difference between what these assholes are doing and throwing hands, and that physical violence is not an appropriate response to words.
ballsack_gymnastics
The key here is that they aren't violent, unlike ISIS.
Words =/= violence

I don't have sysadmin level on prem experience, but I've moved from high tier helpdesk to sysadmin as my company is trying to move to the cloud. I have powershell skills so I'm doing a lot of work with/on azure.
My biggest hurdle with Azure is that it feels as though Microsoft markets that it can do anything with anything and it should be relatively format/tech stack agnostic. Then you get in the guts of actual implementation and find that they really have only designed around more specific use cases and workflows.
And it's very hard to find decent information on how they expect these tools to be used and what the best practice is because a big part of their marketing push in the interoperability of it all.
Like I get that I can create data transformations through data pipelines, through automation accounts, logic apps, function apps, powershell scripts run locally that utilize the Azure modules, and probably a few other ways as well.
But it's such a pain in the dick to track down the "best" solution for the specific use case(s) I'm going for. Whether it's best in terms of being able to re-use modules, best in terms of being built on stable parts of azure that are unlikely to change and require modifications to maintain functionality, best in terms of logical complexity, best in terms of ease of management, etc. It just feels like there's not a lot out there guidance wise.

Lol, my bad. I'm way too used to the general echo chamber and black and whiteness of political discussion online. You're absolutely right.
ballsack_gymnastics
eventually maybe denounces them
Dude. It's not an "eventually maybe". He has explicitly and directly denounced white supremacists many many times before that debate, and certainly after. To the tune of "I do, I denounce white supremacists and racists and I don't need or want their support"
I'm not finding the straightforward compilation of dated clips I had originally seen, but this video seems to have some of the direct ones at least: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcgaeQFbdU8
The debate was also rapidly switching contexts between white supremacy and the proud boys, equating the two. Considering the proud boys hadn't been widely considered white supremacists beforehand (I'm sure their black leader at the time was surprised to be a white supremacist), the Cheeto in chief was likely spinning a bit.
I get it, he monumentally fucked up during one of the most important moments for him not to fuck up, on one of the most important and easiest questions to not fuck up. I'm certainly not trying to argue that he's a "Very stable genius PhDTM" and even calling him smart is a stretch.
I just think the jump to "he was showing his true racist colors" is just that, a jump. Given his repeated previous explicit denouncements of white supremacy, the various charity shit he's done over time, and minority focused laws he pushed, I find it a little hard to believe the narrative that he's a horrible racist bogeyman.
Enabler of them? Encouraging their rhetoric due to his absolutely assbrained speeches? Yes. Dumbass with more fake tan in his head than brains? Absolutely. Horrible unhinged racist reincarnation of Hitler? Miss me on that one chief.
Especially next to "racist jungle" Biden.

Not using mods to integrate that information into the game itself
Alternatively
Not using mods to turn every villager into a dateable big titty waifu who can do actual farm work for you, then creating your polygamous harem of free farm labor

when Trump was directly asked to denounce white supremacy and he refused to do it?
Please, please rewatch the video, unedited, and find the official debate transcript. He was his normal foot in mouth asshat self, but he responded in the positive to denouncing white supremacy. They talked over him. It's been a while but I'm pretty certain his response was "sure".
There's also plenty of compilations of him explicitly and directly denouncing white supremacy before his political campaign, during, and after.
That whole thing was the news media jumping on him for being a piss poor debater to try and make him look racist.

Hey, he's based, not a miracle worker.

Lol, I can misgender anyone I want, for any reason.
Its wishes are no longer valid due to it openly stating in the past that if it continued to not find a girlfriend that it would go trans to try and increase its chances (somehow).
This shit is all easily findable online. In general, I agree with you. But referring to someone how they wish to be referred to is a privilege, not a right. Just because someone's gender identity is important to them doesn't mean it ever has to be important to anyone else. Or that it's anyone's responsibility to validate someone else's self-identity.
This person's gender is the least important bit about this whole thing, and I've not seen anyone (even on fucking 4chan) legitimately argue that his/her actions are emblematic of anything but his/her own mental fucking mess.

Man, I'd just give a hard no on that. Anything you could possibly get working is going to be janky as fuck, with completely unknown and undocumented effects as far as troubleshooting and support goes.

Good thing there's plenty of old malware to go around!

There is a lot of things that can put yourself in a vulnerable state outside of sex.
True, but that's not what we're discussing. I was simply trying to offer an answer to how objectification of sex work is different to obkectification of news hosts and delivery drivers.
Sex isn't always about procreation.
Again, way to miss the point I was making, which is that sex organs are easily damaged and it fucking HURTS when they are. Plus an extra reason for why most people (and animals for that matter) aren't cool with a random person grabbing their junk.
You seem to be arguing against points I'm not stating or arguing for.
What I am trying to say is that there are very little things in life where you can just go willy nilly and have no care.
Again, not particularly relevant to my point. I wasn't even arguing that people shouldn't fuck around, but more that it's something that carries an inherent risk that has been known the world over for most of the existence of recorded history. A risk that is and has been considered different from overconsumption given the bigger focus given to it historically.
I was trying to make a point that people considering sex different than pizza delivery shouldn't surprise anyone, and that there are certainly valid reasons to do so.
This idea that modern civilization is degrading because the art and media is being more sexual is something that nazis thought of
OMFG are you really trying to link everyone who makes an argument even brushing against "maybe don't oversexualize shit, it's probably bad" to Nazi's? Me to Nazi's? Jesus Christ thanks for the laugh my man. Haven't had one this deep for a while and I've needed it.
Look man, you're free to do what you want and think what you want. I think that sex work needs to be significantly less stigmatized, and that the stigmatization is a big reason why it's a dangerous industry with issues of abuse and etc. But I'll never agree with the concept that sex work is no different than flipping burgers, driving a delivery vehicle, working a construction site, etc. That's Ok. Doesn't mean I think sex workers are less than anyone else. You can think I'm some horrible jackass for my beliefs. That's Ok.
Just... I think it's naieve to be surprised that people don't see sex as equivalent to other work, and to expect people to accept that argument.
Trying to argue people down by going "nuh uh ur wrong, bad, or stupid" doesn't tend to convince people.
ballsack_gymnastics
I'll step in for a second. It ties into the devaluation of sex that's occuring in western civilization lately. Sex by it's very nature, is one of the most vulnerable moments you can put yourself into, even speaking from a purely technical and physical standpoint. You are exposing parts of yourself that are incredibly vulnerable, pretty easy to damage, and required for the proliferation of your biological line (generally the biggest drive for any creature). Instinctually even ancient cultures have known that sex carries a high risk of transferring illness (not even talking STD/I's here). It's not some control thing or conspiracy that so many religions and cultures have various rules and guidleines that can be summarized to "don't fuck around willy nilly".
Sex can't ever really be placed at the same level as news hosting or delivery due to the differences between sex and just about any other action that can be done for money. It's inherently different from those other actions in ways that can't simply be ignored or hand waved away. Or at least it is different like that for far more people than the internet, popular culture, and the entertainment industry would have you believe.
Sidenote: For all the increased sexualization in modern media, studies have shown that less people are actually having sex. Makes me wonder sometimes if a lot of this rhetoric is spread by people who don't really know what they're talking about. Not saying anything about you in particular, just in general.

Anyone have any experience with the F3 in the US on AT&T's network?
It apparently only works with 6 of the 9 4G bands they use, but my current Samsung only supports 5 anyway so...
That and the stability of ROMs are the only things keeping me from making the purchase. Not too worried about ROMs now that it has official LineageOS support.

The entire other subreddit is just screenshots of things that didn't make it through the mod queue, so the mod that took the screenshot and reposted it gets all the karma rather than the OP. It comes off like a low effort karma farm.

Why are you assuming that any criticism of the study has to be coming from an offended person who aligns with the studied group?

So the safety of four vs the life of one person too out of their gourd to stand down when surrounded by four people lethally armed? That's a reasonable choice.
Less than lethal is often less than guaranteed effective.
Tasers require both needles to pierce flesh through the target's clothes, which is further complicated by the wires they trail, and they have significantly limited range compared to an actual gun. Then there's the fact that if the target is on the right drugs it won't do much, likewise if the needles aren't spread out enough to cause full body convulsion. Tasers also have limited use time, so you'd better hope you can get someone that's effectively having a seizure restrained.
Rubber bullets are just non-lethal through pain. They don't have any intrinsic stopping capability besides hurting like a motherfucker and being potentially lethal when hitting the wrong spots. So again, target on the right drugs and it won't do shit.
This isn't some fucking movie with fast acting tranquilizer guns.
My big disappointment with most of the masks like this is how little functionality there is in any of them. They look fucking awesome but it's just plastic/metal "exoskeleton" parts kitbashed on and adding extra bulk to something we already have in the real world in a far more compact and usable size.
It's a cool design, but how about an air quality sensor rigged to an led mounted so it's visible in peripheral vision of the wearer? Bluetooth, AM/FM, CB, Police scanner antenna(s) feeding into a switchable earpiece? One of those "tactical" mics on the throat to clearly pick up the wearer's whispers for communication, route it to front mounted speakers or to the communcations earpiece. External mics paired with tuned eqs and software to artificially enhance audio separation for better situational awareness like some modern gaming headsets. Cameras mounted for a 360° view that feed into a flip down HUD screen.
Besides cyberdecks, does anyone else know of any good "functional" cyberpunk subs or forums?
