If I was aware he was gonna do it I wouldn't mind. If I had no idea and then BAM smack to the ass, it would bug me.

This is a really cool theory, but there's one thing Billy says that makes me doubt it: when I was escorting him home, I encountered a few mirelurks on the way and he made a comment to the effect of "wow what's that thing?". Certainly he would have seen or at least heard of one. (if I'm wrong about what he says let me know)

That being said- I really like your idea and it makes a lot more sense than Billy being in there for 200 YEARS. I hope it's true.

I know what you mean, it was fun and all but it felt like I was playing a different game for a little bit.

Billy bothered me so much because in addition to what you already mentioned, shouldn't his muscles have atrophied? Coma patients need physical therapy to walk again and that can occur after only a couple of years, but 200? Not to mention how he kept his sanity after that long. I know he's a ghoul and all but come on.

I think where you went wrong was getting banished from the Institute. I'm doing a RR playthrough right now, and I just did that quest the other day but I never got banished. Did anyone see you? (Aside from the synths in the mine) My guess is since you got banished RR doesn't see you as being useful anymore, since you have no way into the Institute.

I'm not done with this playthrough yet, but after I did that quest I went back to the RR base and told Des what happened. She told me to keep working with the Institute until we hear something from the synth who is working with Patriot. (Forgot the synth's name lol) And I've just been doing random quests for RR since then.

PS4 here too, and I had the same thing happen to me. I ended up having to make him my companion to finish the quest. Annoying, but it worked.
