Maybe unpopular opinion, but as a level 130 vendetta player, I think she’s in a really strong spot right now, and I actually take either major perk dependent on the situation.

What REALLY needs to happen is that Ven players need to understand that she’s bringing a literal sword to a gun fight. So you’re always going to be disadvantaged. Always have an escape plan. Play in line of sight of your supports. Know where the health packs are. She can be absolutely devastating if you play her well.

Short answer, no. Longer answer:

For your general, run-of-the-mill master lock padlock (which they’re usually shooting in movies/tv), the shackle strength is actually surprisingly easy to exceed. You kind of just have to be able to hit it decently hard on the flat part of the body where the shackle extends from (the “top” of the lock). I’ve also seen people pry them open with two wrenches wedged inside the shackle. But if you want to be non-destructive about it, there’s also shimming the lock (if you’ve watched Better Call Saul, there’s a really accurate example in the later seasons), or straight up picking them. Picking a master lock is actually super easy to do. Their pin tolerances are notoriously bad. It’s a fun party trick of mine. But it goes to demonstrate that locks are for honest people, and if anyone REALLY wants to bypass a lock, they can.

It would quickly become a race to see who was the better animator. Unless you stuck with the default movesets, in which case, range almost always wins (just like in real life, which is why some version of the spear was always the domineering weapon in pre-gunpowder warfare).

It sounds like your escapes aren’t planned out well enough. You should be whirlwind dashing OUT to places you know you can survive: health packs, cover, shields from your tank, your support line… if you just try to dash out where the enemy can still see you, you’re just dashing out to your death.

You’re a sword fighter in a gun game. You have to think like it.

I really hope the establishment takes note of how positively people are responding to Mamdani. I would defy you to name mayors from any other cities. I certainly would struggle. She definitely fits the “glass cannon” archetype. Always have a means or plan for escape, too. The most common thing I know to look for when I’m playing an enemy Ven is if they use both their mobility cooldowns getting into a fight. If they do, it means they’re not leaving it, lol.

Level 121 Ven one trick, here. If I had to give my best vendetta advice in a single sentence, it’s: never take a fair fight.

She struggles in most neutral 1v1s. She does great against low health targets and targets with no cooldowns. Use projected edge to follow up on fleeing targets. Remember that you’re taking a sword into a gun fight. Engage with that mentality and you’ll fare better
