A bunch of times I've gone hiking in areas outside network coverage my iPhone has prompted asking if I want to send SMS by satellite, even for non-emergency purposes (AT&T). It has you hold your phone in a certain orientation and wait (with a countdown timer) until the satellite is overhead.

Should post this to /r/CyberStuck

How about a Saturator, Chorus, and/or Phaser?

I'm in a similar situation and just installed a mini-split. Yeah baseboard heating is a money-hungry toaster.
You'll want to find a heat pump installer who is familiar with higher elevations, namely you'll want to make sure you're getting a cold climate heat pump with (enhanced, if available) vapor injection. Also when they're doing the "j-calculation" they also factor in the thinner air, which results in a slightly larger unit than what you might get at a lower elevation for the same square footage.
We figure the previous residents burned a lot of wood and would like to avoid doing that except for really cold nights and special occasions like having company over. And baseboard heating is the worst, expensive and potentially dangerous.

I know a story about this was just posted but I found the fact sheet from the study itself interesting

Firm renewables like geothermal and hydro can also also help address the integration costs

I like a lot of early UK progressive house like Leftfield and Gat Decor. It can first be significantly slower, sometimes slower than 120bpm. But also it can focus a lot on things like basslines where bass just does not tend to be a big focus in trance. Drums can also get more emphasis, particularly “tribal”-sounding triplet-driven rhythms (i.e. 4/4 shuffle).

They drive this home when Stephen is uploaded and he was surprised Caspian was able to crack integrity. "How could anyone but me do it? Even a clone of me?"

Yes, Roland sings first (he’s also the lower register singer)

Cryptographers have been banging on the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem for decades. It would require finding some novel, previously undiscovered structure in its elliptic curve. There are maybe a few places it could be hiding, like j-invariant=0 elliptic curves seem to have some unusual properties. But there’s no reason to suspect anything is actually wrong with it today.

Curt very clearly says “can”. It’s possible Roland is saying “can’t”
bascule
It’s definitely “we can”, you can tell by the parts at the end of the song where they sing it slower and each word is sung in isolation.
Edit: thanks to whoever downvoted every single one of my posts including the one that just says Roland is a lower register singer than Curt. People like you make Reddit suck.

The true zen of a house mix is being able to throw in a few out there tracks in what is otherwise a solidly selected mix but I guess Reddit gatekeepers have other ideas.
Some of the best not-house tracks I’ve heard mixed into house mixes by Chicago house DJ staples performing live in Chicago are things like the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, and Blondie FWIW.

GJ has always had gems. I’m half Italian by heritage and it has a large community of Italian people in general, and so I have a ton of nostalgia for restaurants like Il Bistro Italiano RIP, but staples like Pantuso’s and Citrola’s still abide. GJ has always had a pretty dope Italian food scene just due to the large number of Italian-born residents (including my grandparents)
I haven’t been there but I hear Josephine’s in Fruita is the new hotness for Italian.

Grew up a Slopie, now live in Denver. When I visited last year I was surprised by the food. Growing up in the ‘90s we were happy to get an Applebee’s and Chilis, but uhh, the place has come a long way.
The Winery remains the city’s incumbent fine dining institution and I was very pleased it got a new owner who is committed to keeping it that way. Had a fantastic experience there.
Bistro 317 Bin 707 took over the former Il Bistro Italiano space, and like The Winery that place was an institution. I am happy that Bistro 317 Bin 707 seems like a contender for GJ’s best downtown restaurant along with The Winery. If I were a Michelin judge I’d give it at least a Bib Gourmand. (whoops, meant Bin 707 here)
Peche in Palisade is run by someone who really loves the French Laundry and you can tell, possibly by the giant French Laundry chef quote on the wall which will make you think. I don’t know how to describe it, kind of like non-pretentious fine dining which is totally up my alley as places like say Beckon in Denver can be fantastic but just a little intense and Peche provides a more relaxed fine dining experience.
RIP 626 on Rood, I hardly knew ye but the one time I ate there it was fantastic! Anyway, GJ grew up lot and I’m glad.

Yup. I bitched about this a year ago and now I get HIGNFY recommendations instead of Bill Maher. Woo! Fucking hate Maher

The tar format is cursed but it's comparatively easy to write safe Rust parsers for cursed formats. Source: looked at writing a tar parser in Rust but ended up writing an ASN.1 BER/DER parser instead which is even more cursed.
The really hard part with any archival format is avoiding path traversal vulnerabilities, which is something a parser-only library can't really help with. That said, if the alternative is an unsafe C parser, a safe Rust parser is great!

My favorite Van Driesen moment was when he got in a fight

I remember when Unsolved Mysteries was about things like unsolved murders and kidnappings and by the end it was full blown aliens
I was thinking of when Mr. Manners turned out to be a dick and got into a fight with Van Driesen, which is hilarious because neither of them seem like the fighting type
