Plenty of them. You're looking for a NEMA 6-15 to an IEC C13 (or the equivalent for an IEC C7 - three round holes - or C5 plug - two round holes)

Odds are they'd be better off these days getting a funded PhD role and exiting with a masters if they wished vs paying for a professional masters program

This can be different field by field, though if the norm is that terminal masters are usually funded by a company... watch out (because you'll be in a pool designed for people with deeper pockets)

Krakow nowadays has a bunch of restaurants catering to Jewish tourists in the old Jewish quarter, and El Al has direct flights to TLV, so the school group Pale of Settlement tourism industrial complex is alive and kicking.

Definitely catering to modern tourism because one of them is called "Awiw" (Aviv), not very evocative of the Shtetl 😂

High Frequency Trading using shortwave/HF signals to shave a few milliseconds off the time to get from Chicago to Frankfurt.

The "Sniper in Mahwah" blog has a few guest posts from guys finding HF sites used by HFT firms

Are the towers pointing Northeast?

basilect

Won't just be a Chicago thing, old BX would be bonded through the cable sheath as well

"Subject to damage" is up to the AHJ (for example: can you run bare Romex from an unfinished basement ceiling to an outlet on the basement wall? Some places yes, some places no)

Which looks like it's 141 amps here lmao

Was wondering where it went after the Somerville Theater closed for a renovation

Best of luck and 73.

Boston was almost as Bolsonaro heavy as Miami.

Trying to imagine the Bolsonaro-Elizabeth Warren-Bolsonaro Jr. voters

Followup question: For Americans that live close to the border, is it a reasonable move to drive to Canada/Mexico to try and get it serviced there?

basilect

Same reason why LA/IE are more rent-burdened than SF, lots more low-income people living there.

Is the E region (assuming it's an ionosphere layer) one of the ones that goes away/merges with other layers at night?

Edit: No, that's the D layer, though the E layer weakens at night. Interesting that the ionizing radiation doesn't seem to vary with the day/night cycle

Even the cheap circuit breaker finders are like $40, if you're going to go ham, go ham relabeling your panel

basilect

You're supposed to be crying about Cheesecake factory right now, not making fun of the D's for being softies. It's your turn!

Under 10 years is not bad if you own the flat/building

I'm surprised that solar would seem to be worth it in India, it looks like the electricity tariff in Bangalore is something like USD $0.07 per kWh?

basilect

It's actually quite sunny, but the sun sets early and is at a low angle

Someone made a tweet a few days ago

Every time you go to the post office the person in front of you has a problem that has never happened before in all of history.

and unfortunately you were that guy!

They wouldn't have given stamps (at least without asking) in a long time, right?

basilect

They're right about the effects, but if you brought up why, they would declare the causes "woke fake news"

You've gotta put on your red, white, and blue tinted glasses. The transition altitude in the US (and therefore, to Microsoft, the world) is 18,000 ft.

Edit: Because the TA is standard at 18,000 ft everywhere in the US, the transition level is also standard at FL180 everywhere in the US (unless it is unusable due to low pressure)

That era of cloth covered Romex has okay insulation, its the ones where the individual conductors are cloth covered that you really want to never touch (except to replace)

Though if it's all uncovered, it should be pretty straightforward to replace

basilect

Honestly this specific fuse box looks fairly clean, neutrals and grounds are clearly separated and there is not a lot of wacky stuff going on (except the jumper between 2 split phases) so it should be straightforward to replace with a new subpanel.
