The eagle is slowly morphing into something resembles something an awful lot closer to this. Traditionally the US eagle has been depicted more like this one with the wings flared upwards and the olive branch/arrows being splayed outwards. It has just been "updated" and now looks like the Nazi's eagle than the one we have been using since 1782, removing the olive branch and only holding arrows along with the straight wings is definitely giving a Nazi vibe. People forget two things: herd immunity helps but is not a failsafe, and that some diseases/pathogens/etc require a very high immunity rate for it to be effective in the first place. Things like measles need a 95% immunity rate iirc otherwise it's just going to spread. Vaccines increase the amount of the population that is immune. I would think malingering would be more akin to causing an injury like a broken bone or using a past injury that is beyond healed and trying to pass it off as still being an issue. The soulstones don't fully contain whatever is trapped inside so demons like Diablo are able to slowly influence things around them. Diablo convinced the warrior (aka corrupted his mind until he began going insane) that he was the only one powerful enough to contain the soulstone and ended up jamming it into his forehead as a result. I don't believe he was "stupid" in the traditional sense, he was just exposed to diablos influence for so long he was eventually driven mad and made a stupid decision as a result.

I'm honestly not even sure if it was a stupid decision (for Sanctuary, not himself) in the end as it may have bought the hero's in D2 enough time to actually confront him since I'm sure he was at least able to hold out longer than the average citizen. Had the soulstone ended up in someone else's hands it's possible that Diablo would have accomplished his goals sooner than they would have been prepared for.

We had some moments like that as well but for stuff like sleeping and fucking off they were fairly reserved on it. They sort of let you figure that out for yourselves and if you got caught everyone suffered the consequences.

I unfortunately got caught once on an FTX while on fireguard and never made that mistake again. Felt like an absolute shit bag as everyone had to low crawl around that damn hill for an hour. In my defense I hadn't slept in days since I was busy hustling money digging everyone's fighting positions for them and I'd been laying in the damn rain for hours with nothing happening and nodded off between the exhaustion and sheer boredom. I think that was also the same day I got screwed out of food as well so I hadn't eaten either of I'm remembering correctly. It was the only time I actually got everyone smoked because of my mistake as well so I didn't get too much shit for it thankfully. Normally I was better at sneaking naps or whatnot, just ran up my luck that day.
