The issue is companies will stop providing compiled artifacts. Streaming over cloud and forcing gamers to use thin clients is the strongest defense they have.

The only way you could make a slop copy of a cloud streaming game would be entirely inferring it from a low quality video stream instead of decompiling real local software.

Carmack should found a new studio and hire them all.

AI is really amplifying the dissonance between executives and the rest of the population.

Now they seem to be trying to pivot towards a more console-like experience for Windows to fight in a slightly different market, but they also seem to be underestimating how clunky and inefficient Windows is.

Technically it might have been possible to get Bazzite running on an old PS4 before Sony decided to be assholes. I'd only try that as a fun experiment though and not to actually try using it seriously. 

Probably the only viable way to do it would be with a Ryzen APU, maybe could pick up a second hand NUC but it probably wouldn't be cheap.

This has been a thing for decades. The only thing that changes is the specific way they ruin things, but somehow relates to one of:

• Trend chasing, but not properly understanding what makes the trend popular and delivering years too late
• Being exploitative with commercialisation, often trying to double and triple dip

It makes so much sense for Marvel to make a hero shooter, but it's looking a bit janky.
