Do you have a good relationship, otherwise?
If so, I'd speak up. "I notice this pattern and I'm not okay with it, SS isn't okay with it, and you shouldn't be okay with it, either. It needs to change. Now."
If not, well, that changes the answer. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
beenthere7613
We do this to my MIL. She won't take cash, but she sure appreciates finding surprises!
beenthere7613
Yeah, just move on. This isn't the relationship for either of you.
beenthere7613
And minimum wage federally is under $8.
It really just depends on where you live.
beenthere7613
We have a couple of those too! One of our boys always said, "I only take first answers," and it stuck. Our daughter, after turning 17, would say "I'm at least 17! I can do what I want!" We now say that in a Cartman voice. There are a couple others, but those are my favorites.
beenthere7613
I've heard many stories like that, and I'm so sorry.
It's horrific that we're torturing some medical patients because of a few crooked people.
beenthere7613
I agree. A SAHM spends most of her time there, of course she's going to make it comfortable for her.
OP, are you also represented throughout the house, or is it just your wife? Do you decorate? Who cleans daily? Who deep cleans? Who's responsible for making sure household items are replaced, if they need replacement? Were the pets agreed on?
beenthere7613
It sounds like your husband got a bang maid to work, clean, cook, and take care of his kids.
And you think it's normal? You poor thing.
It is not normal for grown ass adults to whine about house chores. And he should not be "helping," it should be a normal part of his day. Every day.
Stop being his mommy. Your life will improve drastically.
beenthere7613
And now they won't give pain killers even when there's a need. So that's fun.
beenthere7613
I was summoned twice in 20 years, both times excused because I was caring for small children. Then I was summoned twice in 3 months, one federal one local. Wasn't picked for the federal, served for the local. Crickets, since, in the last 5 years.
beenthere7613
I think the point is that she's mimicking his behavior. She doesn't really need a break. She just takes one because he does, and she's matching his energy.
beenthere7613
Understanding what part? The break up?
It sounds like he introduced you during the honeymoon period and had second thoughts, then broke it off. From the outside, it's pretty cut and dry. He enjoys your company, but doesn't want you involved with the kids right now. If you're happy with that, let it ride.
beenthere7613
Be finished with this toxic mess. If he wanted to, he would.
beenthere7613
Yeah, the people I know who believe the Earth is flat are middle class. They're morons, not poor.
I don't know any poor people who think the Earth is flat. They're poor, not dumb.
beenthere7613
No kidding. If it's probable cause for a traffic stop, why wouldn't it be, for a dead body?
beenthere7613
Well I'm not going to dox myself, but I did take care of it, in a way that scared him. He never stole from me again, and last I heard, he tells everyone I'm "crazy." Hahaha
beenthere7613
For sure!
My home was broken into. The person who did it told me he did it. Prints all over the place--he had a party in my house while I was out of town. Evidence gathered, but no charges. Then the same man broke into my business. Stole and sold items in town. He told me he did it. One of the people he sold some of the items to called me and told me where I could find all the things he stole. I told the police. 0 charges, and my items weren't returned.
That's the bottom of a very big mountain of their so-called investigating skills, that I know of. And I'm nobody in the middle of nowhere, I can't imagine how people with regular contact with police even deal.
beenthere7613
I'm working with adults with disabilities. Changed career paths, my career beforehand was eaten by AI. I might change again in the next few years. I don't like the work much.
beenthere7613
Then we can assume Grandma isn't doing too much, and dad hasn't been doing enough.
A stable home has actual stability. It doesn't change on a whim because Dad wants to show his new partner that he's capable. If he was actually capable, it wouldn't have taken a new woman to make him think about being a good dad.
beenthere7613
Thank you! Sheesh. Ripping a child from the only stability she knows so the parents can play house. These kids are real people, not props to make the parents feel better.
beenthere7613
Wait. How much money does she have? She might just get unsupervised probation.
Unless she's poor, then all bets are off.
beenthere7613
I couldn't have said it better.
OP, this man is not available, he's still married, and "we" aren't doing anything. The GAL is less likely to side with him, when a woman who could be his daughter is overstepping in his and his current wife's custody case.
The best thing you could do for everyone is to step WAY back. When he gets his family affairs settled, and has had time to learn how to parent without someone else doing the heavy lifting, then he'll be ready for a relationship.
I agree with the therapy suggestion. It really sucks you had a bad childhood, but that has nothing to do with these kids. Therapy will help you understand. Good luck.
beenthere7613
Weird they haven't been modernizing the grid, all along. They're the only choice for electricity, maybe that's why they feel like they can do whatever they want... because they have us hostage.
beenthere7613
Always the same.
Not only is our health not taken seriously, but we and our employers are paying out the ass for health coverage, too! So we're paying, then paying again to be dismissed and ignored.
I'm livid about my most recent experience: urgent care, didn't even get a doctor but got a registered nurse. Fine. I had a sinus infection and needed meds. I've had them at least a dozen times, know how it feels, know how to get better. That woman acknowledged I had a sinus infection, but said I would need to have it FOURTEEN DAYS before she'd give me medication.
I couldn't work. I couldn't think, the pain was so bad. And I may have been around day 5.
I left and got my medication elsewhere, but you mean to tell me with all the money I pay for healthcare, that I just need to suffer?? Try to work for two weeks through sinus pressure so bad that it hurt to open my eyes? That I need to pay that copay and a future one, with no guarantee I'm actually going to get healthcare?
Ridiculous and infuriating.
