The great independent pubs with such great beers that they're worth getting the train from Ipswich.

I often visit Norwich for its great beer scene. Beer-oriented pubs there are all great places where I can enjoy a drink and read; but also friendly so I can chat with people if I want to. A non-comprehensive few suggestions: Hop Rocket Rose Tavern Wellington  Artichoke  Leopard  Brewery Tap  Ribs of Beef Garnet Beer Hatch  Fat cat Mad Cat

For me, the big advantage of the winamp skin is its compact size. It sits in a corner of my screen without taking up too much space.

Speaking as an Ipswich resident, the beer in Bury is far better than here. Hopsters,  Rising Sun,  Vespers,  Old Cannon,  Beerhouse  , Dove , etc. Bloody marvellous.  Just keep away from shitty Greene King beer.

beermad

Same here. The only thing limiting my upload speed is the speed of my ADSL line.

Unfortunately,  it's been hijacked by the big international companies. Personally I prefer SIBA's idea of promoting "Indie Beer", something the big bastards can't grab.

If there weren't already enough reasons not to use Chrome …

"Same beer" in all the pubs? Not the Cambridge I visit occasionally. Try Thirsty,  the Handsome Prince,  Blue Moon, Maypole, Pint Shop, Alexandra,  Kingston Arms, Geldart, etc.

I wish I had the variety of beers you've got in Cambridge here in Ipswich.

I use the FUSE filesystem and it's worked flawlessly for the five or so years I've used pCloud. Apart from the time I buggered up by messing with permissions on the cache.

beermad

For great pubs, I recommend the Old Cannon, Beerhouse, Rising Sun and Hopsters. Plus Vespers for great Belgian beers.

Interesting. The first so-called "AI" that's actually useful to me. Oddly, u2net doesn't cause freezing for me and seems to result in the nearest to what I need for my photos.

The man's a raving fascist. Great if you like fascists,  I suppose.

beermad

Well worth the normal price .

beermad

It's such a pity there's no longer a proper chippie anywhere near the city centre. That would be more of an asset for us visitors than yet more Yank shite.

beermad

Great staff, friendly regulars and still one of the better selections of ales in town (though less interestingthanit used to be).

beermad

That's one horribly over-processed photo.

beermad

It's an old almshouse. Charitable accommodation for poor people,  but of course now occupied by the well-off, like most almshouses, sadly.

Kmail is the one part of KDE that's still as big a waste of time as it became with the disaster that was KDE4. Thunderbird is a better bet.

beermad

And then telling you that the answer is "banana".

beermad

Now you know why backups are more than just a nice idea.

beermad

I prefer to encrypt files myself before I upload them (where I think it's necessary,  so not things like music or video).

I have no especial reason to mistrust pcloud (especially as it's not US based) but I feel doing it myself is just that bit more secure.

beermad

Well for a start it's not a city. Much as some pillocks want it to be.

Pubs here aren't great these days.  Fat Cat and Arcade Street Tavern are the best, though the Woolpack and Thomas Wolsey are decent. (I tend to train it to Norwich,  Cambridge,  Bury or Chelmsford for better pubs).

Despite what some will tell you, it's a pretty safe place to be. Much more than most towns. If you're a cyclist, there's plenty of nice countryside around the town to ride around.  But if anyone told you Suffolk's flat (like I was told before I moved here) they're lying.

beermad

Upland Road's very handy for the Fat Cat. Not what it used to be but still the best pub in the town.

I've just tried the mousemove command within it (as that's practically useless in ydotool so a replacement would have been nice) and that doesn't work. Plasma 6.6.4 on Manjaro (fully updated today).

$ wdotool mousemove 200 200

It had asked for permission to control something (I didn't make a note of what), which I clicked OK (or was it "continue") for.

I'll try your other tests when time permits
