Job did everything right and still lost everything, his family, his livelihood, his good health. Then his friends came, expressed their sympathies, and began telling him why he must be wrong, he must be secretly sinning, that there must be something he did to end up so bad and something he must do to make it better. Job gets progressively angrier and angrier about this because in truth he has been flawless in actions, mind, and heart, and he himself does not understand why he’s so unfortunate. In the end it’s revealed that neither Job nor his friends could comprehend why things happen the way they do, or why we have to suffer. But Job is rewarded for his faith, while his friends are humbled.
