Gibble gobble one of us!

Good points

He managed to write an entire ramble review without once mentioning the words liability driven investment. Completely confirms the Truss thesis.

Nobody who took out variable mortgages at close to zero interest rates should be surprised that their costs have gone up. I take it your costs are higher now than in 2022 by the way?

So just your average Londoner then?

It's a great point - so maybe this is her laying the groundwork for round 2. I for one would welcome it - we drastically need something that's going to help the country grow and be more business friendly.

It's why the only way that approach works is if leadership have the balls and the mandate to see it through the rocky period until you start seeing the benefit.

I completely agreed with the Mini Budget in substance. However it was fumbled in delivery - yes there was a rug pull, but what did Truss and Qwasi expect?

They should have gone into this eyes wide open that there would be resistance and pushback at every step.

What they were doing was similar to Milei in Argentina (although far less extreme). It will always result in some kind of panic or knee jerk reaction initially before the benefits start to come through.

In his raging ramble Simon Heffer completely fails to even once mention the words liability driven investment (or "LDI"), despite it being a cornerstone of the reason why the mini-budget ended up failing and ultimately being scapegoated.

So his review is a proof in point to this book's thesis.

Weak*

You are right to question it. Typically people look at data decades or maybe a century at most back and conclude that investing predominantly in equities will lead to outperformance.

In the early 19th century bonds outperformed equities over a roughly 50 year period.

There is also the general possibility of black swan events like currency collapse which assets like gold hedge against.

At the end of the day though you'll probably be fine with mostly equities (preferable being value conscious), some bonds and some gold (preferably physical).

Outside of that we're talking food, water, weapons and survival skills as having more utility.

Yes a lightweight AI model controls the micro movements. A stronger AI model controls the macro view of what to do, goals etc.

That got me too lol

Thanks! Haters gonna hate

Honestly I’m not sure how that particular problem was solved as Claude did it

Great find thanks for sharing

Great to hear!

It’s all open source so feel free to have a dig around my commits here: https://github.com/harrymunro/ClassicUO

I love that - great idea! And I totally agree 👍

Sounds good man. Keep plugging away and look forward to seeing more :)

Very interesting thanks for sharing. Do you have a public repo for this work?

Why thank you! I must say that I was not the OG on this stuff. Somebody else posted a month or so about this originally with some Jev experiments. I just decided to run with it. Hopefully the more people that can build and contribute to this space the better.

Why not?

Each to their own
