Thinking of swapping from Hero to Paladin.
I'm also currently on month 3 of liberating and I heard that switching now would require me to restart progress on liberation. Is this true?

I'm doing every side quest I can on hard mode and I don't use any bonus exp at camps. I'm about at the same level as the main story right now, but still slightly over levelled. Some of the bosses can get pretty tanky on hard mode so it depends on if you like taking a long time on boss fights.
boreddoom
I've been having a blast with the game. Partway through chapter 4 on hard mode and I love the story, characters, combat, music, and side quests. I do agree with other people that the villains are a bit one note so far. I hope the quality of the story keeps up cause I've been burned too many times recently with games that start off really good and end up having a bad second half.

Just started Yakuza Like a Dragon recently and it has this. You need to reach max bond level with a character for them to receive full exp on the bench.

Saying that most people wouldn't mind getting qiqi constellations is what's disingenuous. She is literally considered one of, if not, the worst 5* in the game on top of her constellations not being good.
And most players would definitely be unhappy if they got an off banner on their pity. Who would be happy about spending 2 months worth of currency they worked for only to lose a cointoss and not get the character they wanted?

You can also wait 3 minutes in the boss arena, then enter/exit a character trial. The boss will be there when you load back in. It's convenient for bosses that are a long walk away.

Ooooo, that sounds nice. I'll prbably give it a try over the holidays. Thanks for the info!

i've been interested in trying FF11 for a while since I like playing JRPGs with a good story.
If I just want to play FF11 for the story, would I need to do any level grinding? I don't mind a bit of grinding, but I don't really want to spend hours killing mobs just to level up and progress the story. If there are alternatives to leveling that aren't repetitive, that would be fine too.

I expected aliens, but got existential dread instead. Not sure which is scarier.

I'd say Diluc's constellations are more than just damage increase since they change how many autos you weave between his skills. It even changes what part of his normal attack combos are used between elemental skills.
There's also Ganyu, who can fire off charged shots without charging after using her elemental skills at C6.
Xiao's C6 is also a pretty significant change to his gameplay.
C6 Childe is also something that's nice to have. I get that C6 is not at all needed in abyss, but a lot of the game is exploring the overworld. And when I'm exploring, Childe would feel a lot less clunky to play if I didn't have to worry about how long I was using his elemental skill for.
Ayaka's C2 changes her burst to add mini vortexes. You could argue that this is just damage, but this change lets her burst deal with larger groups of enemies.
Stuff like this isn't really necessary for the character to perform, but not having them makes me feel like I'm played a gimped character. I do agree that there are a lot of characters where constellations are just damage though and I hope future characters are like that.

Personally, I don't think imprints from Epic 7 and Constellations from Genshin are comparable at all.
The main problem I have with constellations isn't really the extra damage it gives. I agree with you that constellations aren't needed to complete abyss.
The main problem I have with constellations is that they lock parts of character's kits in constellations. Some characters get their playstyle completely changed with constellations. It's more noticeable in an action game like Genshin too. It just doesn't feel good to save for months, or spend hundreds for a character in an action game, only to receive an incomplete character.

You can see the income here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/r0p6d6/a_complete_history_of_freemogems/
There's a few outliers on this chart:
1.0 is the launch so it had a lot of free pulls and gems from first time exploration
2.0 released an entire new region, so a lot of gems could be obtained from exploring the new region
2.1 had anniversary freebies and released a couple new islands for more exploration gems
Aside from those outliers, the general amount is 60-70 every 6 weeks (Patch cycle is 6 weeks). It's probably a bit lower for people who don't fully explore and do every side quest.

The Last Remnant. The gameplay is pretty unique and it takes a while to get used to, but it's really fun when it clicks. The story is really forgettable.

It wasn't until i tried playing Xenogears that I realized how much i hated random encounters. It becomes really annoying when i want to just explore and find treasure cause I'm constantly forced into battles, and since the game has no minimap I also kept getting lost or forgetting where i was going after battles. I just couldn't handle it anymore and stopped at some point.
I've started playing Xenosaga recently, which does not have random encounters, and it just feels so much better.
boreddoom
I remember that situation. They only refunded people who rolled within a certain time frame. And that time frame was only a few hours and it was in the middle of the night for NA. So anyone who just woke up and did the rolls got screwed over.
boreddoom
The story was underwhelming, they had some neat ideas/plot points but all of them just get resolved in really anticlimactic ways.
boreddoom
Yeaaa, maxing skills would take longer since doing that takes a lot of mats. Getting mats for ascending shouldn't take that long though. Plus, skill levels aren't that important unless you're doing challenge quests and those aren't for new players. Sure, Skadi needs maxed skills to loop, but skadi looping is not something for new players cause of all the other requirements and it's only for speeding up farming.
boreddoom
Not true since events are usually the main source for materials in FGO so even if you were fairly new, you could grab some of the later materials from events. It usually doesn't take many mats to max ascend a character too. Plus, there's no way it would take someone a year to catch up to the story.
boreddoom
Actually, they have slightly over 100 5*s
boreddoom
Gameplay was fun, I liked a lot of the characters. For the story, it felt like they had a lot of interesting twists/plot points at first, but they got resolved in very underwhelming ways. It also really felt like the story took some hits due to a lack of budget.
boreddoom
I actually did this when I was new.
In my defense, the first hard fight I did when I was new was against Odin. I queued for it in duty finder and somehow got a party. Everyone was new, we wiped a lot, and the other tank and I would provoke the boss off of each other when we got low. Because of that, I thought it was normal for the OT to provoke the boss when the MT got hit by a big attack. It wasn't until storm blood that I saw a reddit post saying that the OT shouldn't be provoking unless the MT dies.

What I'm saying is that the probability to get the rate up character is the same for both games.
So you'll get the rate up character in epic7 just as often as in counter side, except you can also get off banner SSRs along the way in counter side. (This is not accounting the different pity amounts)
Yea, it's rough. My dog passed away last month and it still really hurts. I'm just constantly wishing that she were still here with me.
It's a complicated feeling. I know I should probably try to move on and think about her less, but I'm also scared that if I do I'll begin to forget her and forget what life was like when she was still here.
