Cut a hockey stick and nail it into the top of a door frame. Preferably one that doesn't matter if it looks ok (like a garage, shed, or basement area). Had a family member that did this and used it for years. It probably matters though on how your door is built and framed. I know you don't have a basement but for those that do and have any open ceiling areas (common in furnace and mechanical rooms). Could be done in these areas also between strong beams.

I'm guessing from the anger and the way you write about "educated people" you've never set foot on the University of Calgary campus, and you likely don't know anyone who works there. The problem with the right is you all are generalizing a large part of the population and it's not doing you any favors, you are just driving people away and that's why you lost the election and why PP lost his seat, and why Jeremy Nixon lost in Calgary Confederation. You aren't going to get more people into your party unless you start from a place of what people have in common, which is a lot. There was no focus on that from conservatives though, just what's wrong and 'woke" with the left, its not appealing or welcoming at all.

You say the left are "bleeding hearts", give me a break. And then you list off a bunch of BS infantilizing a whole section of the population that voted left. Maybe learn a little self reflection and work on those critical thinking skills.

Those people work hard, are highly educated, and specialized in certain fields which is desirable to tuition paying students who pay thousands of dollars a year to learn knowledge and skills from these people. Our economy in Alberta wouldn't be anything without the educated people with desirable skills that come out of Alberta's university's. Get a grip and stop bashing a whole set of the population because you don't understand the work they do, and they don't buy into the bs the Conservative Party has been spewing for the last several years.

Heck, where do you think Canada's right wing leaders learned what they know - from the School of Political Science at the University of Calgary. They literally churned out most of the super right wing politicians that everyone loves on this sub... Stephen Harper, Danielle Smith, Ezra Levant, PP. There is definitely more inspiring people that came out of uofc than these folks, but so you know the Conservative party, and the UCP wouldn't exist as it stands today without the University of Calgary.

Lol. They lost because Jeremy Nixon was a bad MLA. Calgary confederation had a longtime conservative MP Len Webber, it should have been safe for them, but they chose to run a bad candidate. The Liberal campaign worked hard and had a good candidate. There was a number of Calgary urban ridings that were extremely close. This sub just seems to be made up of rural voters that don't understand urban politics. While most of Calgary went blue, there's a few ridings that were close, and these conservative MP's will have to work hard to keep their constituents happy. In urban Alberta we don't just vote blue for the sake of it. They need to work for it. It's why you will see PP put into a rural riding where he will not have to do any work. They will not run him in central Calgary or Edmonton where voters are critical of their representatives and will swing.

Not sure why you would want him. He ignored his riding and took them for granted, that's why his constituents voted him out. I'm an Albertan and if he tried to get a seat in my riding I'd be very vocally against it. The party needs to focus on getting a new leader, not getting PP a seat. Guy is an embarrassment for losing his riding of 20 years as the leader of the party. His seat was a safe conservative seat.

This sub is less than 7000. No one joins this sub for good reasons, it's an ultra-right echo chamber that is not representative of the broader Alberta population. The people taking down your post aren't concerned with critical thinking. My suggestion is to post in the Alberta subreddit. Significantly bigger audience.

Lol your sensible advice is wasted on this sub. The people here aren't critical enough thinkers to care about this. Most of them are probably consuming a steady diet of rebel news and random fake media on social platforms, FB etc.

Sounds like the UCP
