Obviously plenty mentioned lowering the saddle height, which you sound like you’ve done some. You definitely want to be able to be pushing all the way through your downstroke foot (heels down to same plane, maybe slightly lower, than toes, as the natural downstroke will tend to push toes first). Also, while a shorter stem may assist some, I’d really consider pushing the saddle forward first, rather than shortening the stem. Based on your discomfort in the saddle, and “relief” in the climbs, you probably want to open up the hips more and lengthen the extension on the pedal stroke. Moving saddle forward will help do that. So, lower saddle = stop rocking, forward saddle = open hips. Once you do that, then feel out your hands and bars. A 56cm Trek may have you on 44cm bars, when at 180cm and in decent shape you may really need 40cm or 42cm at widest. Then you can play with drop distance.

I could be way off, but I feel like your pricing is steep. 923+ new, $620 B&H. 10gbit card new $110 B&H. That’s $770 NEW. For forum deals, take about 40% off that, brings you down to $462. Drives are worth about $35/ea IMO. Assuming someone actually wants those capacities. That’s $602 with drives. You can get more on eBay, but plan to give away 15% off the top.

$800 would be fully loaded, 32GB RAM, 10gbit card, and 10tb+ drives w/<10k hrs.

Again, all my opinion, which is worth $0.

Really, what I feel like everyone is representing here is that there are many ways to approach and solve your problem. We are all committed to our own approach, more or less, and believe it to be the best because it’s how we work and what works for us. My $.02. 1. You are over-provisioned on hardware. If you care about security, which you’ve indicated is a priority, reducing the physical connections to the net also minimizes attack surface. Depending on your infrastructure (servers, identity provider, etc.), you can utilize VM’s, VPN’s, Cloud access, etc. to reach your offices. The “right” provider can guide you on best practices. The bonus to this is LESS hardware $$ spent and fewer endpoint licenses. 2. Backblaze is a fine product, but NOT a backup solution, only a backup location. The meat is in the recovery, not the backup. If you care about patient goodwill and the ability to continue making $ on the event of compromise, then recovery is where you need to focus. 3. Without even getting into pricing per user, per device, etc., it should be clear that the $10,000 provider is completely missing the assignment. That the others a closely bunched together indicates either collusion, or the fact they’re more in line with a real solution rather than a by-the-seat-of-their-pants solution. $10k provider might be a nice person, but in this business you definitely get what you pay for. 4. I’m also wondering what kind of coverage you’re getting in the Dental office (you said you’re a dentist). Of the approach is similar to the Optometry offices you should also have a thorough discussion about that! Once HIPAA sniffs at anything they’ll keep pulling at the thread, the common one in this case being your participation. Not to instill fear, but you’re already considering the ramifications anyway.

Azure Arc? An RMM tool? If the goal is just to save bandwidth, then neither of those solutions, but both can help automate updates. And though I haven’t tried it yet, Azure Arc can also supposedly work with Ubuntu IIRC.

Picture shows not NIB, so how many POH, TBW, and S.M.A.R.T. data would be beneficial.

In fairness, your post is innocent enough. The solicitation for a partner and capital is incredibly generic though. While I don’t represent all, I feel the r/msp space is one for brainstorming, problem solving, and sometimes just blowing off some steam.

If you’re serious about finding a partner and some money (which most of us are busy protecting, not spending on someone else’s dreams), more specifics would be helpful to your cause. Do you currently only perform computer repair? Why are you interested in the MSP space? What services are you offering that you believe helps platform the growth into an MSP. What capital, goodwill, customer and referral base do you bring? What is the target demographic you’re after in the MSP space? What infrastructure and tools do you already have in place? Etc., etc., etc.

If you’re just thinking about starting an MSP business and want to find someone who shares the dream, then solicit networking contacts to learn about what it really takes to be “successful” in this business. It’s in quotes because all of our definition of that will be different.

Good luck!

$1M+ in one graphics card. That’s 🥜

I immediately thought creeping juniper as that’s what covers so many banks in this area. Check your planting zone and see what’s available. They would help stabilize the bank, and frame in your flatter section for some beds and grass.

Best is whatever keeps you steady and doing what you love. Worst is anyone who doesn’t value your service or skills. Both of those people and companies cross industry.

You aren’t there yet it sounds, but the place we should all want to be is when taking referral calls WE do the interviewing, not the other way around.
