There's a big difference between crude oil supply and refined product supply. While the disruptions at the straits affected shipping crude, this was mostly temporary. What affected middle distillates supply is the fact that multiple refineries got hit during the wars, both in Gulf and Russia. Another refinery in Illinois has been having repairs too recently at the same time. Fixing the refineries to get back to production takes a lot longer to bring that capacity back regardless of how well crude is shipping.
