Just based off what I’m seeing and the taste you’re describing, I would try grinding finer.

I love Replicant, tried to play it on highest difficulty… I’m not built like that dude lol

bud_bones

The Nier games on highest difficulty are insane

If you create a brew profile and select cold brew, you can lengthen the brew duration. The default cold brew time is 1.5 hours, lengthening it to several hours would give you something more akin to a concentrate. Haven’t messed around with it myself, though!

The point about being able to explore and level up a lot more before facing bosses in ER is fair, LoP definitely has almost none of that.

I think what was also a difference for me is clicking so much with the perfect guard mechanic and using it as much as possible. Going from one game to the other is definitely a shell-shock concerning the different approaches to combat.

bud_bones

Simon? Yeah, same here.

Margit is an absolute menace of a first boss, especially for someone still relatively new to the genre. If you go straight to him first without doing much else, it is a struggle.

bud_bones

Agreed. I don’t know if this is a hot take or not: Margit is tougher than half of the bosses in LoP.

As much as I loved base game, the DLC took it to another level for me; the story, the characters, the levels, the bosses, all incredible.

I’d say most of the trophies just happened as a consequence of exploring everything the game had to offer. Making sure I had all of the weapons was probably the most tedious (particularly the one in St. Frangelico). I’m sure you’ll plat the game with little trouble!

bud_bones

Totally agreed. Congrats!

bud_bones

Appreciate you mate!

bud_bones

Thank you!

bud_bones

Figured someone would beat me to it

bud_bones

80+ is a good place to enter the DLC. I think I was around 87 when I felt confident I could defeat the first boss in NG.

It definitely has a way of letting you know right from the start that you’re not in base game anymore. I would just say to take your time and enjoy! As levels/areas go, the DLC starts out with a bang.

I found Pale Knight and the Trident very effective. On repeat playthroughs, the weapon you get after beating this boss also works great.

As for advice, while it sounds obvious or cliche: there’s really no way around just learning the fight, i.e. the parry timings, which thankfully are fairly intuitive rhythmically compared to some of the other fights (looking at you, Laxasia). Arlecchino with no Lea took me the longest to figure out, but after enough hours, eventually it will begin to click. You got this!

bud_bones

Appreciate you 🙏🏻

I definitely saved Real Boy for the very last, quickly got it over with for the achievement and moved on.

“Is this really the future you wanted?” Noooo 😭

bud_bones

I wouldn’t say anything felt too hard necessarily, but making sure I got all the weapons was a chore. One of them in particular is very well-hidden, and I simply forgot to buy a few from the merchants throughout my playthroughs.

Overall, just having fun with the game got me most of the way! One of my favorites ever.

bud_bones

Thank you! Will keep that in mind!

I have had this grinder for about three weeks now, and while I haven’t had this specific issue, one thing I’ve noticed that I hope will benefit anyone reading this:

Sometimes, the dial doesn’t want to turn very easily, and I will feel a lot of resistance. I’ve discovered that when this happens, it’s time to recalibrate (very quick and easy process), after which it turns easily again. On the once occasion that task did not eliminate the strange noises, I took out the augur and brushed everything out once, and this grinder has been running great overall.

Maybe this frequency of maintenance is normal for a grinder in this price range, maybe it isn’t,
but I think a calibration every week and a deep clean every month or so isn’t unreasonable given the frequency of use (north of 100g every day). Both processes are pretty quick and require almost no equipment.

Just my two cents. Would love to hear what others’ experiences have been with the Ode 2!

bud_bones

This is a question I’ve always wondered, but I figured there was no way I could’ve possibly missed it at this point. Glad to finally get some closure on that via this comment section.

bud_bones

Can confirm, the Ode 2 is significantly more quiet than an Encore

bud_bones

Same, can’t believe I didn’t think of this

bud_bones

I just need to take a bag and do the experiment myself, I’m sure I’d notice a difference if I did a vertical week by week. Appreciate your insights!

I’m sure lighter roasts would benefit more from a resting period than darker roasts, but honestly, I just can’t be bothered to wait. I can usually pick up the roaster’s tasting notes after a few days off roast, so I don’t necessarily feel like I’m missing out on what the roaster intended.

bud_bones

I don’t know if it’s a “rule” per se: resting coffee for 2-3 weeks. I really enjoy how most coffees taste 3-5 days off roast. Sue me
