Didn't even seem to like it.

You have to enjoy your baby or the whole parenting thing will be miserable. And for a lot of people, that means making them look cute and going to say hi to people on a day where that's what people are doing. It makes most people happy to see a baby in a costume. It makes a lot of babies happy to see various people in costumes smiling at them. It's good for them to go on a walk around their neighborhood. So what if they won't remember? I doubt you want them sitting in a dark room doing nothing until they can start forming memories.

The thrift store doesn't want you to do it. When their employees are processing your donations, they want them to set the possibly very valuable ones aside to be processed by a different set of employees.

Are you the kind of person who benefits from taking action instead of just worrying about what will come? Start lining support up. If you can swing a postpartum doula, do that. It's such a lifeline when your family can't be around. Your worried about postpartum mood disorders? Figure out the plan; who do you call/email/text. Some places do prenatal sessions so you have an established relationship, and they can help with some of your anxiety now. If you want to breastfeed, know a IBCLC, preferably one with experience with twins. Make a plan for getting out of the house; April in a lot of places is when the world starts coming alive again. Go see it, even if it's a 15 minute walk or sitting on your balcony in the sun. It helps a lot. I think one of the hardest parts of that first stretch is it feels so neverending. But it's just a few months and then it's different.
That aside, even if that first year was the hardest thing I'd ever done, it was amazing. And my 3yo twins are amazing, easier than having a 3yo and a 1yo, and maybe even easier than just one 3yo. They're funny and sweet and play together and comfort each other. We're at the point where we ask to negotiate to solve their own squabbles and they totally do.

I lived in the DC area for 5 years prior to living here for 5 years. On the average winter feel level, it's absolutely colder here and for longer. I think maybe you were just used to it and didn't register the difference.

Note that it has to be his choice to share. Forcing it is not how you foster a good relationship. He doesn't give up rights to his stuff. He decides in which situations and which items he's ok with sharing. If you force it, he's not going to willingly share anything. He has to feel secure that it's his stuff and he's deciding to be kind.

Yes, you absolutely start teaching boundaries to a 20 month old. "This isn't yours, you can't play with it." is something 1 year olds learn every day.

It's not to allow a Republican vs Democratic race where it's a forgone conclusion. But a Democrat vs Democrat race where there's an actual choice.

Sweetie, if you edit your comment to address downvotes, you're asking.
candybrie
They asked why they were getting downvoted. It's because crotch goblin brings to mind the militantly childfree. It's not nearly as common and playful as you are making it out to be.
candybrie
I don't have a problem with the parents. I have the problem with the person throwing a fit because a kid giggled too loud in a restaurant and they don't want to deal with any crotch goblins around.
candybrie
Crotch goblin just in indicative of the distain you have for children.
When parents try parenting with kids in public sans devices, it's the people referring to kids as crotch goblins that are annoyed that the kids even exist there. But they're also usually the people who complain that kids never learned to be in public properly.
candybrie
It's the developmental/medical definition of through the night. I was fairly disappointed to learn that.
candybrie
Yeah, if they're basically 2 instead of a fresh 1, I can totally see "I go baycation" and "Not a baby!"
candybrie
You can totally use a comma. Em dashes can take the place of commas, colons, or parenthesis depending on the situation. I don't think they're ever required though.
candybrie
Hyphen is used to join words, such as e-mail.
En dash is used for ranges, such as 2–5.
Em dash is used to offset parts of sentences and can be read as a pause, such as I love English—sometimes.
candybrie
Ah, there's your problem, thinking English actually follows its rules.

I have definitely seen the following formatting before:
2 - 16 oz cans of cream of mushroom soup

People asked for delivery from places that didn't previously have delivery. I'm not sure they bargained for the changes that happened to the places that already had delivery.

All my kids want to do is turn playdoh brown. Like sometimes they'll make snakes or worms or use cookie cutters. But really? They just want to mix 3 colors. So we got a giant pack of little playdohs (I think it's like 60/$20) and live with these choices.

Doesn't question 5 severely limit how much tax revenue can increase? So 5&6 together are specifically the problem.

All of the numbers are real fuzzy. As someone else pointed out, sex can happen like 5 days before conception. Plus most babies aren't actually born on their due date; it's only like 5%. It totally could have a Christmas party.
candybrie
But the day you get pregnant, you are 2 weeks pregnant. So it's 38 weeks from conception to estimated due date.
candybrie
38 weeks is just shy of 9 months. And it's 38 weeks from conception to estimated due date. You only get 10 months if you divide 40 weeks by 4.
This happens to me a lot. Candace, Candice, Kandice, whatever.
Canadace? Candance? Where are you coming up with those?
