It is fucked. I, like you, have thousands of games at 10-12k behavior score. Had a baby, afk a tonne of games, reported to oblivion (rightly so) down to 6k behavior score - now play with the full toxic psychos down in the trenches. Behave the exact same as I did at 12k, Now still stuck at 6k behavior score, fully muted, can’t ping talk or anything, just reported for the tiniest mistake in game. Climb up 10pt each game, 1 report - BOOM down 500. That’s how it works down there. I have the same behavior at 12k at 6k but can’t climb back. That’s the problem.

The underlying principle is simple: when a transaction is wildly inconsistent with what could reasonably have been earned legitimately, the explanation for the money matters.

A fresh level-1 character transferring 350g/175g isn’t proof of RMT by itself. But it’s strong circumstantial evidence because there is no reasonable gameplay explanation for a level-1 generating that amount.
You don’t need a literal screenshot saying “I bought this gold for $X” to recognize a suspicious transaction. That’s how financial investigations work too: unexplained assets/transfers can trigger scrutiny even when the underlying illegal transaction isn’t directly documented.

Could there be a legitimate explanation? Sure. But “technically possible” isn’t the same as “reasonably explained.”

At that scale, the onus is on the recipient to provide a credible legitimate explanation, not on Blizzard to produce a literal RMT receipt.

This happens in the real world too, IRS confiscation of proceeds of crime when the “I found a million dollars” is reasonably assumed to have a legit paper trail - you can’t so fraud charges ensue. I disagree. I had a BoE epic drop and the entire party were casters besides me who could use the 400G+ item. I needed it after asking and they said go for it. As long as you promptly equip the item to USE it should be able to benefit your leveling experience and is a big part of the joy of getting an epic to drop.
All the gold goblins out there saying NEED all just to sell are missing out on a huge part of the thrill of drops.
