I guess I'm asking for advice based on what others have done in this situation. I'm trying to decide if I should just pull the trigger now and buy Era 300s even though many consider them to be overkill for this use case, go in the middle with Era 100s for the virtualization channels, or stick with the One SLs until something else comes along or the price drops significantly.

Your advice is to stick with the One SLs. I appreciate the input :)

I also ride nyc streets with a kid on an e-cargo bike (tern quick haul). I honestly think this would be more distracting than just using properly oriented mirrors. We had a radar (one of the garmin ones) left from when we were living outside the city and it was useless on the streets because it was firing off near constantly. It was annoying enough we ended up leaving it home most of the time, so I sold it. If your only concern around the mirrors is them getting caught on things, most decent ones are designed to flex or rotate in that instance and can easily be positioned back.

This setup looks more distracting than helpful overall to me

right yeah if the alternative is a sandwich between the door zone and moving vehicles, i'll gladly take riding between the (much less frequently used) passenger door and the sidewalk

Obviously totally separate lanes with hardened protection is ideal but we're in the settling phase here unfortunately

Someone made a fork, but I imagine a lot of this will be merged back into the mainline VPX in due time (which essentially just means you can set this up and know that a lot of the config should HOPEFULLY, though no guarantee, work in the future if you swap back over to the main VPX builds in the future)

Vpx VR runs standalone on the steam frame as well for what it's worth!

I'd look into the Osmo's prep and application guides. Usually you should sand the wood to a specified grit, and then apply using their recommended method.

That's the thing, is it was trained off people who really write like this. So like, obviously there are people who do genuinely write like this. But generally when people write like this it's more spread out? If that makes sense. AI packs it in so it's over and over and it just becomes, like I said, a little uncanny and detectable as AI. Generally I feel like I can tell when it's a human written rule of 3 vs an AI written one (though it is getting more difficult in many cases). AI writing just feels cold and inauthentic.

It's the cadence. Very few people wrote like this before the age of AI. Things like:

What I didn’t expect was watching her x, then y, spread across x, y, and z. No x, no y, no z.

I felt useless. I brought x, y, and z

The worst part wasn't x, it was y

Our parents had photo albums. Someone did x, then y, then z. We have x, y, and z, and we've never been worse at...

Here's what hit me

I want them to have a record of us... Her x, her y, her z, etc.

It's this over and over again that gives it away. Do people sometimes write like this? Sure. But it's quite rare and there's just a level of authenticity that isn't there that is detectable when something is run through AI. It's like the uncanny valley of written word. They might've written the first draft of this post and then ran it through AI, or maybe english isn't their first language and this is translated through AI which can also have that effect. But even so a direct google translate likely would come off as more authentic, or just posting their first draft.

You need the ROM. it's name is listed there in the center. It needs to be in the /[table name]/pinmame/ROMs folder, next to the .vpx file.
