i'm amused by the notion that russian bots are pushing fake news about russian bots

Ulmo is just collecting all the best shit in arda. He's got the prettiest part of middle earth, a bunch of boss rings, numenor and all it'=s treasures. Even a fucking silmaril

cassander

missile. the word for one way attack drone is missile. these aren't new!

cassander

just giving this a bump, a bunch of people have already signed up, so I'll be setting up a list when I get some time this weekend. but the more the merrier!

cassander

you can come from as far as you like, but I will not be paying mileage :P

cassander

it took combination of both but i eventually got it

cassander

one didn't work. I'm trying 2 and having an issue with automate. it installs, but tells me that ivona isn't compatible with the latest version of android when i open it. anything I can do?

cassander

i just got a new phone and am having the same problem. any luck?

it's a mistake to think of tolkien magic as all or nothing. It's more subtle than that. melian's power makes it easy to get lost, but not impossible to get through. After all, thingol does feel a need to defend his borders with soldiers and beren & carcharoth get through.

If all the other kingdoms had fallen, morgoth could have had all his orcs link arms and march in, if need be. the girdle was an extremely potent force multiplier, but not all powerful.

After all, thingol does feel a need to defend his borders with soldiers and beren & carcharoth get through. Also the dwarves. my option for this is missing from advanced settings. what do I do!?!

cassander

all I want I with a modern hull carrying the burke combat system, substantial margin for growth, IEP with a bunch of extra power. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.

cassander

that's not how you spell lee pace...

cassander

That would be illegal. But if we reverse engineer it with a clean room....

cassander

there are dozen of us who feel this way, dozens!

cassander

three might technically be better, but one is my favorite. It is the most period piece of all of them, and it has an energy and a direction that 2 and 4 lack. 3 is more of a slow burn, but 1 feels like a race.

cassander

The movie should be the gang saving troy from his sinking boat. the after credits scene should be abed crying alone in the dreamatorium...

joe's great gift is bringing out the best in people. he hurts people in the process, but ultimately, that's what he's best at is making other people be their best. if it weren't for him, the others all would have burned out along the way and achieved nothing. cameron's self destruction would have kept her from getting anywhere, gordon would have meandered along as a crappy sales engineer, and donna would have been an unhappy housewife.

Joe's end is about him realizing what he was made for and embracing a selfless version of that. and he shows up at the end in a car that makes it clear he's not hurting financially.

1>3>4>2

season 3 might be tighter and have a better handle on where things are going but there's an energy in 1 that's never matched in any other season. Season 3 clearly is going somewhere the entire time, 1 makes you feel like you have no idea what's going to happen next.

cassander

I like season 1 a lot. 3 is tighter, no doubt, but there's an energy to 1 I don't think is ever matched again.

turin started making poor decisions from when he was a teenager onward. And while you can expect that of a teenager, he never grows out of it. most of us learn from our mistakes.

Melkor has no power to set aside free will. Turin chose to leave doriath rather than face justice despite his innocence. he chose to fall in with deeply unpleasant people. he chose not to go back when beleg found him. He chose to steal mim's house, and he chose to ignore the warnings of ulmo. You can blame not helping finduilas on morgoth/glaurung, and MAYBE the death of beleg, but not all his other objectively terrible life choices.

cassander

You won't really need support until you watch foundation and need to weap at the waste of lee pace...

not generally higher rates, just getting back into balance with our spending and ability to carry debt through the ups & downs of our population and other things

things have gotten unbalanced because we're spending too much, not taxing too little.
