Whenever I point this out to my (apparently) clueless teammates, they always respond with something like "calm down dude, it's a fun mode, we are just here having fun, what is your WR, shut the F up noob, etc...." Still amazing how many games end with a score of 1000 to 0.
What I don't understand about those folks is this: why is it more fun to them to do the fun mode and lose than to do the fun mode the way it's designed to work and win. Plus you get more credits and XP when you win, so there's that, too. It's basically like they are saying they have more fun losing than winning.
BTW, got a discord notification from WG a couple days ago with some survey questions about the new fun mode, and one of them was something like "Would the Madness mode be more fun if the flag cap feature was removed?" So clearly WG is aware of this issue.

Truly an impressive hang time on that kick.

This is a math pop quiz. You need to solve the equation correctly, showing ALL of your own work.
If you fail this quiz, it will go down on your permanent record.
Good luck!

When you first start playing, you are in what we call "bot MM (matchmaking" and that lasts until you hit 1200 battles.
You can check the player stats after the game, and real players will have their stats shown but the bots will all show zeroes. There are only about 3 dozen bot names, so you can learn to recognize them easily. A group of them end their names with "_2015".
As your battle count increases, you go from 2 players, 5 bots per team, then it goes up to 3 and 4, and then 4 and 3 in the last few hundred before you hit 1200 total.
Also you won't see bots in ranked or fun modes, only regular. You also won't see bots as often as their tier of the battles goes up, although they can show up in tier 7's and rarely 8's, but I've never seen one in a tier 9 or 10 battle.
Bots also don't have clan tags. They typically lock on to the nearest enemy and track them, but I've never seen a bot actively engage a friendly player to impede their progress at the start of a match.

I've been the 1 hp survivor 3 times in the last week, definitely more frequent than usual.

The thing I've noticed lately is the lopsided, blowout streaks where the losing team kills zero tanks.
I'm not saying it was always my team that lost like that, but between my wins and losses, I've increasingly had streaks of 5 or more games in a row where the score is 7-0, meaning the losing team can't kill a single tank.
And frankly, stat-wise, I do worse if my team is on the winning side in those blowouts, as the other team just evaporates so quickly I can't even get any decent damage in and I find myself chasing after the rest of my team and they rush ahead, obliterating every enemy they see before I can even get a shot off.
It's as if my teammates know in advance that they are the "winning" team on a 7-0 steamroll and just push aggressively from the start, knowing they can't be killed by the other team.
But if I'm ever the lead tank on a flank, and I take up a spotting position next to hard cover, just peaking out a bit in a bush, I'm usually the one that gets vaporized first as I'm the first one to spot 5 or more enemy tanks that come around a corner in a group and I have no chance to even try to run away.

It used to be that at least half my battles were competitive, and by that I mean the outcome could go either way. That's not to say my team would win all of them, but at least we had a chance to.
Now, I'd say there's not even 20% of battles are competitive, with at least 80% being steamrolls that are over in 3 minutes or less, or at least effectively so with 6 vs 2 still going at that point.
AFK's are way more common these days, and I'd say the vast majority of my teams have at least 1, sometimes 2, and at least a half dozen times these past few days, 3 AFK's on just my team. In previous months, most teams had none or just 1 AFK.
I also increasingly see teams start out as if they are totally clueless of where to go or what to do. They just move around aimlessly, stop and start, as if they were just dropped off on an unknow, alien planet. Whatever tank leaves the spawn first, most if not all just follow them.
And when my team encounters the enemy team, they die quick, by not aiming shots, not using cover, not focusing fire, doing nothing that could contribute to a win. Bots in bot MM were way more effective than these folks are.
It's now normal to have 3-4 people on each team with well under 500 damage in a tier 8 battle. Sometimes as many as 5 are like that. Yet the other team only has 1 or 2 like that.
I get the sense that the MM has been altered to intentionally unbalance the teams, to make the battle very one sided and ensure that it is over quickly, which I assume is being done because WG somehow thinks that makes them more money.
The end result is that I play fewer days each week, and I spend less time each day playing the game on days that I do play. It's almost like WG is actively encouraging me to stop playing the game and move on to something else.

You also need a lot more experience to learn what tank type(s) and playstyle(s) that you enjoy most, and the ones you hate and just want to avoid at all costs.
For example, you may like a fast medium, or maybe an autoloader medium, or perhaps a heavium. Maybe you like a fast, mobile TD versus a camping, sniping TD, or maybe you want a TD with a turret vs. a casement TD.
You don't want to spend money now on a premium tank that doesn't suit what you enjoy playing the most, and it will take some time for you to figure that out. And you want to learn that against teams full of real players, not against bot teams where only part of the team is real people and the rest mindless bots. You leave bot matchmaking at 1200 battles, although as your battle count goes up, the number of real players per team also goes up as the bot count goes down, until it's like 4 or 5 real people per team.
There are also some tank review websites that can help, like the ones in the Community Bookmarks section to the right on this page. Guidesblitz for example reviews the non-tech tree tanks, tells you how to equip them, their amor profiles and special features, how best to play them, and if they are worth getting, and if so, for what sort of player/playstyle they would suit best.
