if your defense is "I might've not crashed the goalie if the defender didn't touch me at all" then you knew you were going to crash the goalie. the defender is always going to try to defend you even if it's possible in a complete vacuum letting the person try to score untouched so they don't hit the goalie is the better option when people see that they'll just go towards the goalie even harder hoping you won't do shit since you don't want your goalie to get hurt.

we have seen gane do this countless times (tons of fighters do). this is cheating. this isn't debatable that gane is a cheater or not, he is. Contacting the eyes is further cheating but this act alone is cheating. if the refs would take a point FOR THIS (which they should) eye pokes would disappear in 2-3 events maximum. we would have some 28-22 decisions for those 2 events but I don't car.e

there is no incentive to not eye poke. the UFC and the commissions actively encourage the fighters to eye poke

aljo winning a decision would be pretty unlikely but is possible and over 10-20x more likely than aljo submitting volk. at the highest level (top 3 of divisions or so) straight submissions are incredibly rare and requires an incredibly unlikely to exist grappling skill difference. now someone getting rocked with strikes and then subbed is more likely but aljo doesn't have that power or striking for that. It is hard to imagine a fight that has aljo submitting volk but him holding backpack 3 times is possible. islam got backpack on volk too for a while.

gable line was crazy and history has told us HWs should never have that big of a line because they can end in one punch and gable was also very unproven even if sharaf looked like shit in his career.
