Thank you so much!
chickenfingers51
It’s my favorite part! Thank you!
chickenfingers51
This is my first Blythe custom! It’s not perfect, especially the carving and sanding.
chickenfingers51
What I wild to is just get small metal beads and glue them on the face
chickenfingers51
Honestly buy the mask, ngl I was stupid and tried to do exactly what you just said and ended up with a massive headache and felt sick for a couple of days ( I got myself checked and ended up being fine, just told to never do it again), so I would highly reccomend to buy the mask.

I use Tamiya - TS80, but it’s basically the same application style. I usually make sure it’s not a humid day and to be safe I spray 1 coat and let it sit for 24 hours. After that coat is dry, I start the face up and do coats with 15-30 minutes dry time!

I’m not a 100% sure but some people do hot water to wet the hair and then use straw pieces to curl it. I’ve also seen people use got2b spray or hair styling gel to keep it set! Honestly for elastics you should definitely use hair elastics.
chickenfingers51
Oh that seems fantastic!! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
chickenfingers51
Oh really? Thank you so much!!
chickenfingers51
Okay! Thank you!!!
chickenfingers51
Do you of any good shops or site to buy them on?
chickenfingers51
Okay! I unfortunately do not have MSC so I was wondering if it’s okay to use other sealants?
chickenfingers51
Hello! I’m also a beginner and these are the materials I used!. I customized Blythes by you could use these on MH or any doll you want.
Sealant: MSC (Mr. Super Clear) or Tamiya- TS 80
Colored pencils: I use Verithin, but you could use watercolors pencils too!
Pastels: I use soft pastels by kingart, but I highly reccomend Faber castel.
Rerooting: for hair you can buy wefts online or use yarn to make the wefts. You can look for videos on how to turn yarn into hair weft on YouTube!
Glue: after rerooting, you need to glue the hair on the inside of the dolls head so it doesn’t fall out. I reccomend a strong glue, like super glue.
Eraser: you might need art erasers, like the grey clay one to erase anything you don’t like.
Those are the main things you need, if you want know soemthing specific or need help, DM me!

Hello! I started customizing Blythe also I know what it’s.
I recommend carving the features you want first, its speeds the process up of sanding. Then you have to sand really well and use different grits, I use 400, 600, and then 1200. I highly suggest you spray a bit of water on the doll to smooth the sanding. For the small nooks that are hard to sand down carve them and then take a tiny peace of sand paper and rub it in the spot that still has gloss to the best of your abilities!

I forgot to post the picture of the head, woops

I know this post is a bit old, but I highly reccomend starting out with g3 MH or a cheap barbie to practice.
If you want to customize something with bigger proportions I suggest a factory blythe doll from aliexpress! Since they have big heads it’s easier to practice on.
I highly suggest watching makeup tutorials for specific looks and to make it look more natural depending on what you are going for!

DS custom factory Blythe 170USD! You can purchase her through my Depop!
chickenfingers51
Unfortunately those stores are not in my country yet. But I did find a good alternative!
chickenfingers51
If you are still interested I can’t negotiate a price, honestly I just want sell them or get out them so I’ll take any price

Honestly, your artstyle is gonna change the more you learn and practice. Sure, there’s gonna be things that stay, like the way you draw eyes or render clothes, but your art will always change.
