I upgraded from the Instinct 2X to Enduro 3, with my usage it lasts about 29 days on average (6 days longer than the Instinct 2X), and the larger color screen has been a huge upgrade, even if it's nowhere near as vibrant as in the main product picture. The Enduro 4 looks like a pretty minor upgrade to the Enduro 3, but I think it'd be a pretty big upgrade from the older Instinct line. My main priority is battery life though, so I can't say if there are any features on the other watches you'd prefer (AMOLED screen, microphone and speaker) that the Enduro line doesn't have.
The main issues I've experienced have been:
1) Once every few months, the heart rate sensor doesn't activate properly during activity and reports like half the heart rate. Restarting the watch fixes it, even in the middle of an activity, although sometimes restarting will mess with the accelerometer calibration or whatever is tracking speed for a while, and it keeps triggering Auto Pause because it thinks I've stopped even while walking. Had this happen on both the Instinct 2X and Enduro 3, but it's pretty rare.
2) When starting or resuming an activity, I have to wait still like 8 seconds after it gets a GPS signal, otherwise it will start my walks at like 30 km/h or it'll put a point on a map like half a kilometer away from where I actually am. The start/end of an activity can be trimmed so that's not a big deal, but the same problem can happen when stopping and resuming an activity, and there's no official way to remove a bad GPS point from the middle of an activity (there are workarounds with third-party tools, but they lose some data about the activity).
3) One time, the navigation menu froze while searching for nearby places and I've had to hard-shutdown the watch.
A few more minor issues here and there, but overall I'm happy, especially about battery life, but I'm the type of person who would consider a watch that doesn't even last 14 days on one charge when new to be useless garbage, which happens to be 99% of the smartwatch market outside of Garmin.

Is there a new set of guidelines? This is still the top hit when searching: https://store.steampowered.com/news/group/4145017/view/3862463747997849618

I went from being okay with the sensor on the power button, to wanting an under-screen one instead, or at least on the side but separate from the power button.
The amount of times I just want to see the notification screen without unlocking the phone, or turn the display off while it's locked, and not being able to do it without unlocking the phone first and waiting for the unlock animation to finish, is too high to be completely happy with it. But if I turn instant unlocking off, I have to press the power button, lift my finger, and touch the power button again just to unlock it, which is even more annoying.
My old Nokia 6 had the fingerprint sensor on the home button. It was pretty much perfect, but I guess you can't have a phone with bezels around the screen anymore, so I'd like to try an under-screen sensor next.

Calling anything "apolitical" is a bit of a red flag. The whole idea of open source is inherently based on a political belief. Maybe it doesn't seem like it because it's a belief people in the FOSS space naturally agree with, but "political" doesn't mean "anything I don't like". Licensing is inherently political. The way a project deals with collaboration and user conduct is inherently political. I can empathise with attempts at preventing pointless drama, but pretending that politics don't exist is silly.

You're basically forcing them into making a political statement purely because of Frameworks actions, politicising the rocknix project more than it needs to be.
Checking that the project or its owners are not supporting an inherently harmful and anti-human ideology should not be "forcing them into making a political statement", that should be the bare minimum expected of decent human beings.

I've mainly used Copilot in JetBrains IDEs, but a few months ago I uninstalled Copilot and switched to JetBrains' local completion models (Full Line Code Completion). Frankly, these have been consistently better than Copilot in the last year, mainly because they complete 1 line at a time, instead of constantly disrupting me with 10+ lines of hallucinated garbage that makes the whole IDE jump. Not relying on any online service is also a major plus.
As for "AI chat" and similar, I like to write code, not review code. I inherently don't trust LLM output, and checking large outputs wastes more time than it saves, therefore I have zero interest in the whole direction Copilot and Microsoft are currently going. Constantly shoving this crap down my throat is not going to make me like it.

Thankfully I happened to catch up a few days before the run, and it ended up being my favorite run of the whole event. Usually I watch the finales just because the end of the event is always special, but this time I was also really interested in the game itself, so I probably enjoyed it the most out of all the GDQ finales.

Same issue here, I've been stuck on 2024.1 for apparently the last two years. Had to go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bitwarden-password-manager/versions/ and manually download a newer version.

Except every time I reinstall G HUB, the volume wheel on my headset stops working.

Transcriptions work alright, the problem is that Teams is a UX nightmare where you apparently have to switch the transcription language away from English every single time you have a call, so sometimes someone forgets and the transcription is completely useless.

Just a small error, the MkDocs link is wrong (points to .or instead of .org)

Yea... for me, modern Linux is as slow at hibernating as Windows 7 used to be. Linux takes 30s to hibernate, 15s to restore. Windows 10 takes 7s to hibernate, 10s to restore.
Measured on the same PC, hibernation finishes when the power LED turns off. Linux also behaves strangely, during hibernation it briefly flashes what was on screen before I hibernated.

I don't see why the developers wouldn't just take it down or amend the description, if they really don't want to use Modrinth.
From my experience, Modrinth keeps logging me out after inactivity, and when I try to log in I sometimes get captchas that are so insane I can't even get into my account.

Computers are in the bedroom. The UPS noise only stops being noticeable once enough computer fans start spinning, if everything is shut off it's too loud to fall asleep easily.

And regarding the video about Windows, the piracy aspect was a rather small part of the whole thing...
They listed several legitimate ways of acquiring a key, including completely free keys if your school is partnered with Microsoft. I'm sure many people don't know that's an option. They also warned against grey markets like G2A, which again, is useful information to a lot of people.
But if you want to focus on the piracy aspect, people are going to pirate Windows anyway, and it's much better if they can learn to do it safely. I don't think that anyone, who was going to buy a legitimate key, will watch this video and suddenly turn into a pirate.
There's also a big difference between Windows and HexOS. Many people actually need Windows, even though they can't afford it. For a lot of people, there just aren't any viable alternatives. On the other hand, there are plenty of alternatives to HexOS that will cost you time instead of money.

“just don’t buy it” notably didn't fly when it came to a certain wallpaper app
Uhh what? From the WAN show where they discussed the wallpaper app:
"It communicates pretty clearly what you're going to get and what you're going to give up. And if that's a value proposition that is acceptable to you, then you are more than welcome to pay it, and if that is not a value proposition, then you are more than welcome to not pay it."
It's the exact same thing they've been saying about HexOS.

If storage prices are getting this low for all datacenter companies, why can't you get cloud storage this cheap anywhere else?

Might try it later. If there are any computer fans running at all, they're louder than the buzzing on the APC unit, but when the computer is off the buzz is audible across the room. It has some kind of pattern, it buzzes continuously for about 2-3 seconds and then stops for about 1/4 of a second; don't know what that means. I just turn the APC unit off when I go to bed to get rid of the noise.
chylex
Both of them have been buzzing since day 1, bought brand new, with zero load. I don't know how to tell if my power is dirty.

I have an APC 1500va and Eaton 700va and both of them make a buzzing noise. The APC is a lot quieter, but it's still completely unbearable to have a in a bedroom.

I’m not sure that a removable back is worth €300
For some people it is, I was looking for a phone around the same time as Nokia released the much cheaper G22, saying "repairability at its core" in the announcement, but the official battery replacement guide has 19 steps, they put fucking adhesive on the battery, and the guide even acknowledges that you might need to contact Nokia support for "stubborn battery adhesive"... so I went with the FP4.
I'm simply not interested in a phone where battery replacement takes longer than a minute, even if it costs more and has worse hardware. Maybe other companies can eventually figure this out.

I just bought Trepang2 after seeing the run!
Communities moving from easily searchable forums to Discord has been a really bad thing, I'm glad something is being done about it. This looks like a good change.
