You can go to developer options and switch your Bluetooth to an older stack. Also disable Bluetooth LE (it will say spatial audio or something like that).

I have also advised people to do the same thing. Unbox the phone, don't carry the box etc. Yeah it's pretty easy to tell a brand new phone you are carrying that hasn't even been set up vs your second phone. People bring back phones for family and friends all the time to avoid duties. But at least do some work to make it a reasonable story. Set up the phone in your name, enable some esim etc.

Trump saw the news story about a sexually abused 12 year old vs her abuse enabler and immediately knew which side he had to be on.

Not really, demand is low when solar is producing because solar is producing all over and people are generally away from homes. The duck curve gets worse every year as demand spikes at the same time solar stops producing. The utilities have to bring online peaker plants on very hot days when demand spikes in the evening and these are expensive. Virtual power plants which are basically aggregation of millions of behind the meter batteries are what really saves the utilities money by avoiding bringing online peaker plants. And utilities do pay out decently for exporting during those times. A utility scale solar farm would provide them power for far cheaper than your rooftop solar.

If it's consistent, nobody will show up to watch the ads. It's likely intentional (Hanlon's razor notwithstanding)

This is not surprising at all. Dd and Ue have more power with delivery. The restaurant and the customer both have more alternates with pickup which is why on the customer side pickup orders have zero fees and sometimes even give cash back to the customer. With delivery, DD and UE have tremendous power because of network effects. There needs to be enough volume for a network of drivers to be available. And there needs to be a network of drivers to deliver in a timely fashion.

There used to be a British show called Crystal maze where contestants would be locked in a room and had to complete the challenge within some time to get out or they could give up before the time was up. If they didn't leave the room in time, the team moved on without them. Add a kid, I thought these people were left in those rooms for the rest of their lives.

Yep they will love riding the cart into the store. You can hand the membership card to one of them to scan

That's what she said

The $25 brokerage fee is absurd lol. Your 5% discount is equivalent to 20% annual return before the brokerage fee. The reason to sell immediately is to lock in the gain. You will pay the brokerage fee at some point. The only difference is if you combine 3-4 cycles of espp, you can spread out the fees. Look at what your guaranteed gains become after the fees. Also espp often has a look back so the 5% discount is applied to the price at the beginning of the espp period instead of the ending price if the stock has gone up during the period. In that case, your gains may be even higher and may make sense to lock it in.

cloud9ineteen

5% discount is actually more like 20% return. Your espp period is 6 months so your money is on average held for 3 months. You're getting 5% return for 3 months. If you have a look back and the discount is based on the lower of the starting and ending price and your stock has gone up during the period, the actual discount and the corresponding gains could be much higher.

Yeah that's what judgement-proof means

cloud9ineteen

I remember reading this several years ago but all I can find now is an article about a couple of folks talking about it on a podcast where one of them claims fidelity did this study and contacted the best investors and most of them had forgotten they had an account with fidelity.

cloud9ineteen

Just because your insurance covers your bill doesn't mean the person at fault isn't liable. But unfortunately sometimes they are judgement proof. By taking money from your insurance company you subrogate your claim to them. They have the right to sue the at-fault party to recoup their costs.

They can do most of it today without the app. Like they know how demand changes in each market when they change price. That's just business 101. As to dynamic pricing, since the price is on display at the store, individualized dynamic pricing is generally going to be discounts. Yeah the risk is you show your cards, now McDonald's knows you are not price sensitive and will pay full price anyway. So they stop giving you discounts. But guess what, if you don't install the app, you're paying full price anyway.

cloud9ineteen

The only thing I can think of is (and I'm not saying this is definitely a bad thing) but they can close the loop on what worked to make you order McDonald's. And aggregate that across the population to understand what works and what doesn't. Some people may think of that as a gateway to manipulation but everyone's getting manipulated into consumption by every company out there anyway. Like they can send some specific people a targeted ad on Instagram and then they can see how much more likely it made the targets to place a McDonald's order. Or they could do A/B testing with two different ads etc.

Those are not the dates the person you replied to used. Where's the Fed's chart disagreeing with the January 2021 to July 2026 real wages being down? Real wage growth was negative for 25 consecutive months from April 2021. After that it has been generally positive. Overall, we're at net zero real wage growth including this year.

I agree with you that real wage growth has been positive over the last year. That said, 0.3% isn't much to write home about.

cloud9ineteen

Yeah they got it backwards. Probably coming from the idea that a freezer has to "work" to freeze water but it's spending some energy to transfer some multiple of that amount of heat in that opposite direction that the thermal gradient would normally want to transfer heat.

If you're landing in kochi, just use a prepaid taxi or call Uber.

You don't get the fica and Medicare tax savings when you use your own provider. You can still transfer money out to Fidelity. At least with optum, they don't charge for partial transfers. I usually transfer when it gets up to about $1000.
