So....why doesn't he want it to?

colonel_mortimer

Both of these things are true, the second one verifiably so.

colonel_mortimer

How are people just now figuring out he's a serial rapist and close associate of a child trafficker?

colonel_mortimer

Zero days, although his fraud/treason revealed in only this scandal alone is probably a capital crime.

colonel_mortimer

This has been obvious as hell from the second the very first tacky made in china red maga hat was put up for sale.

colonel_mortimer

Sleeping

colonel_mortimer

Most of the constantino signs are just ones he used campaign funds to buy from his own company at a huge markup.

colonel_mortimer

He made it through the primary strictly because his opponent didn't kiss trump's ass enough. It says a lot about the R-voters in one of the most ass backwards districts in the country.

colonel_mortimer

The cash discount is alright but yeah it's definitely more than you'd expect to spend going out for chinese

colonel_mortimer

Probably a 5, maybe a 6 if you're really going to include the wider cap region. Even the stuff that you have to drive 20-30 minutes to isn't usually worth the drive. The identity of the food scene for this area is "I don't care, what do you want?" and "idk, I guess [random place] is fine"

colonel_mortimer

Are we going out for sushi/maki or are we going out for jalapeno poppers, folks?

Eddy's Chinese in Clifton Park has excellent szechuan - north of the bridges they're as good as it gets all aroud

Just because WWE matches are scripted doesn't mean the cool athletic shit they do in matches is fake or that the drama isn't compelling.

colonel_mortimer

He literally put up a statue of a child rapist.

You have to convince exactly zero players to go along when you have the most arcane rulebook in professional sports, along with game swinging penalties that can be called almost every single play.

Peyton Manning said that at half time you eat an orange or whatever and get back out there after a few minutes

If they're meant to be biomechanical drones of some kind, you'd think they'd be set up with a different field of view.

In the book she deliberately stops the fire trucks from getting to the school. She blows up gas stations to make the fires spread. She deliberately floods the streets then knocking down wires she fries random people in the street while they're fleeing and laughs about it. What she does to chamberlain is way more deliberate than any of the movies and especially the tv show. The TV version really under-sells it, while a whole invented character does most of it then tells her not to feel bad about it - book Carrie does it all and really likes it.

colonel_mortimer

Maybe not underrated, but probably under-seen I guess? It's crazy how many people who never watched it just because the OG one feels corny to them and the concept sounds pretty goofy.

colonel_mortimer

Would probably be news to the actors in this one that they did not care about the subtext

colonel_mortimer

Brother what do you think Sam's whole deal was?

colonel_mortimer

Deadstream and Haunt both might work for you

colonel_mortimer

It's just a made up junk food that only exists in the movie

colonel_mortimer

The Blob remake is underrated. I think you'll really like the 78 Body Snatchers, that one is another that definitely beats the original. You might as well throw in the 1990 Night of the Living Dead remake into the mix here...it really sticks to the original story and improves on it a bit.

Thinking about decoy protagonists, and that really does seem to be more a slasher movie prologue thing. Can't really think of many movies that pull it off.

Carrie enjoys and thinks about the destruction a bit more in the book, where in the adaptations it's somewhere between a reactive thing that just happens and something she's not even fully doing herself. The adaptations also all show a lot less of it. The movie/show versions don't feel quite as much like she's making a real villain turn, at least compared to how I felt the book version went.

This criticism seems to mostly be people saying "likeable" when they really mean "pretty" compared to the book description. Which is true. They could have made her more of an awkward misfit in a lot of the adaptations, but that's really not even the point of her character anyway IMO.
