I'm copying this from a r/hockey thread a few months back that is relevant and was very helpful to me for understanding.
"Yes and no, Senior Hockey is its own thing.
Essentially, Senior hockey in Canada is a unique blend of organized, competitive adult hockey that isn’t tied to age-based progression like junior leagues. Typically for players 18+ or 20+, there’s usually no upper age limit, so you’ll see 22-year-olds playing with guys in their late 30s or 40s. Eligibility is more about being done junior and properly registered than age.
Most leagues fall under Hockey Canada branches and are named Senior AAA, AA, or A, though naming varies by province. Senior AAA is the top level, feeding into national competitions like the Allan Cup. Players include former Major Junior, Junior A, B, or C players, ex-minor pros, and high-level players who want to keep competing. True beginners are rare due to the pace and physicality, which are closer to junior than beer league.
Teams are built differently from junior leagues, with no draft. Recruitment is local, through connections, or by reputation, and some leagues cap non-locals or ex-pros to maintain parity. Pay is limited but real, often including game pay, travel coverage, and sometimes free equipment. No long-term contracts are involved.
Senior teams usually play 1–2 games per week, often on weekends, with a shorter season than junior, making it accessible for those with jobs or families. Physicality varies by league, with some allowing bodychecking and others being “hybrid.” While the stereotype of senior hockey being rough isn’t entirely wrong, better leagues tend to be more controlled and skill-driven.
It’s important to note that senior hockey isn’t a stepping stone to the NHL. Scouts aren’t watching, so it’s more about playing high-level hockey, representing a town, and competing for trophies like the Allan Cup."

In my opinion, one major problem comes from the times when a geologic map just shows the topography pretty heavily. If there is nothing particularly special about the topography then you have no context. For example, one round I got a portion of a stream channel that cut through what looked like a relatively flat topography and horizontal structural area. So all I had to go off of was a stream trending southwest and stratigraphy that could put me in any of like 4 states. A slight zoom out could possibly help but not make it too easy.
A different idea, and don't take this the wrong way because I have no idea how any of this works or how hard it is or if it is even possible so I am just throwing it out there: a geologic map that is scrollable (but maybe not zoomable) could be super cool. Let's say you could scroll the map but there were no labels, that could be somewhat like the real Geoguesser. In part of what I found fun in Geoguesser is roaming around until I found something I recognized.

This is great! Maybe zoom out on the geology maps a little? I found myself almost exclusively looking at the strat columns because I couldn't pick out much structure or context with the maps as a zoomed static image.

I don't know Tom Hanks is pursing his lips too because they are in a helicopter and it's windy.
