For what it's worth - these nodes support ethernet backhaul. In that network scenario, there's no "the same node the PC is connected to".
As long as your Steam Frame is on the 6GHz frequency band of a node it has line-of-site to, it doesn't matter which node they're connected to, and the experience should be just as good (or better) than the official wireless dongle.

It's infantilizing to frame Ethan as a "dummy who couldn't say no to her advances". When you cheat on your spouse, that's 100% your fault, because that's a decision you make, so you bear the full responsibility for that decision.
She participated in a bad thing. She has her own culpability here, and she wronged Hila too, but Ethan cheating is 100% on him. He didn't get tricked. Tamara is no saint, and is a perpetrator here as well, but ultimately when he cheated, he took on responsibility for that act.
courageousrobot
You're assuming he didn't pursue her. We can't know the tick tock of things here, but it's illuminating that your framing is basically her as the harlot and Ethan as the dumb idiot who couldn't say no. He certainly is an idiot who destroyed his family, and I'm not saying she's not culpable, but the way you're thinking about this is rooted in misogyny.

I just DM'ed you, but if you're game for it, I'd be happy to "trade" my 256GB 2027 reservation position with you. No purchase email received yet, but when it does, it's all yours to buy if you're in a more stable place (and okay with getting a 256 instead of a 1TB). If it comes too soon or you change your mind, I'd let another Redditor claim it versus giving it up or scalping it.
Good luck with your upcoming surgery!
courageousrobot
Well, typically they tell people that the person driving the car might be inexperienced and to give them some space/patience. Same reason people have "baby on board" stickers. Do you complain about those too?
courageousrobot
Since a bunch of 2027 North America 1 TB reservation queuers have gotten purchase emails in the last 24 hours, that should mean they've sent out purchase emails to all of the Dec 2026 NA 1TB list. Any reports of NA 1TB folks with a Dec 2026 date still waiting for an email?
courageousrobot
How does 2027 folks getting their purchase email earlier than expected translate to 2026 waiting until 2027? The different models have different queues. They're still working through the "Dec 2026" 256 North American queue, but seemingly have cleared through the 1TB 2026 list.
courageousrobot
What region, what model?
courageousrobot
Please. Please. Here and elsewhere on the subreddit: If you're going to talk about getting a purchase email, include what model/region queue you are in.
There are three shipping regions (North America, United Kingdom/European Union, and Australia), and each has a separate queue for each model - so there are six separate reservation queues in total that are all moving a different speeds.

Man, I can't imagine not using RES and "default to old Reddit", even in VR.
courageousrobot
Suck it with your mouth. I'm serious.

Submitting your own AI-written substack article isn't really what TrueReddit is about.
Submissions should be a great read above anything else, and preferably long form articles. We do not allow text posts, and prefer you not post your own content.

The lead dev for the project recently received their Steam Frame. They're working on porting it to the Frame but they haven't provided an ETA (and they have a "don't annoy us by asking about ETAs" rule in the Discord).
Someone submitted a pull request adding vibecoded Frame support, but I doubt it'll get approved. For one, the Decky devs are fundamentally opposed to vibecoded software, but also, reading through their Discord, the main dev wants to fix some major pain points for the Frame. They're focusing on things like recoverability if something goes wrong (which can be QUITE messy on Steam Deck when that happens) and a smooth OOBE for first time users.

Every aspect of this post highlights why I'm not actually worried about receiving a defective unit.

You keep saying "new revision" like resolving issues with a manufacturing defect requires revising the physical hardware. The two things are not mutually exclusive.
courageousrobot
Well, that certainly doesn't require a "revised version 12 months from now".
courageousrobot
They're not talking about a hardware revision, they're talking about resolving potential manufacturing issues.

There's some misunderstanding about the EU law. The battery doesn't need to be removable the way old phones were with a battery cover - they just need to be user serviceable without specialized tools. The Steam Deck uses screws, so does the Frame - so they meet that requirement.
Even without screws, if a special tool is required (like say a spudger or heat pad like what's on the iFixit kits), it needs to be supplied free of charge. That's all the law requires, so it's really not that big of a deal.
courageousrobot
This may be a dumb question, but have you charged it with an actual PD charger or are you just using your computer's USB-C port?
courageousrobot
They've got a Steam Frame channel on their Discord and a few of the devs are starting to play with it. It doesn't look like many of them have their hands on a Frame yet, but a few do.
courageousrobot
Nah, it's pretty light. At just a few grams, it's not really what you'd want for a paperweight.
courageousrobot
Sorry, not going to bother with a vibecoded slop project "inspired by" Decky Loader when DL has a bunch of devs working on it who actually understand and care about what they're doing, an established plugin ecosystem, and a "no excessive AI" code policy. It'll come to Frame soon enough
courageousrobot
It has nothing to do with a moral weighing of "ecological ramifications", it has to do with the rules set by the EU. It's easier to just comply with that globally. That's why food packaging in the US frequently has French on it (Canadian law), or why all your products have carcinogen declarations (California Prop 65), etc.
I really don't understand why you're so pressed about a power brick. You can get one for $13 on Amazon right now. Valve is charging more than twice that.
courageousrobot
I'm talking about the current Meta glasses, not the upcoming Meta VR Glasses, as those are the most recent Meta release since the rules applying to headsets and wearables went into effect last year.
Are you using wireless backhaul or wired backhaul between nodes? If you're using wireless backhaul between nodes, that uses the 6GHz frequency band for the mesh connection. Depending on your home construction and what's between the nodes, that can be... temperamental in terms of performance.
If you're not able to connect at all - I found that I had to play around a bit with toggling on/off the "Reserve 6E for the wireless adapter" under advanced settings. Turning it off allowed the Frame to connect to the Deco right away over its 6GHz band.
