The depressing thing about these people is they're diluting that word so much by tagging everyone with it that it takes away from the actual Nazis who carried out unthinkably horrific acts on those poor human souls who were living the worst nightmare before their consciousness was brutally snuffed out.
It's appalling to use that word so flippantly. IMO it's a middle finger in the face of the people who perished under that regime.

hehe, fack yeah cunt!

Ah yes, the interview that Nardwuar removed from his own website archive where he shares the sexual history without consent of two people underage, and showed the photo of the girl to the world, pestering Damon and the band for details for the majority of the interview, and then gatecrashed a press conference to do exactly the same thing.
Nardwuar was a dick, his fans who accept his behaviour are also dicks and fucking weird - expect this thread to have weirdos popping in years after the post was created which is exactly what happens each time this topic comes up. Nardwuar was wrong before Dave was wrong. They were both wrong. Dave publicly apologised for his behaviour, Nardwuar accepted, Nardwuar didn't apologise for his first interview and tried to erase all trace of it. That's all there is to it.

What is wrong with the modern fan? Honestly - "oh no, oh no" - fuck off. Why do you need these guys to have every single foot placement completely correct. It was this sort of rough edges that made elements of the Attitude Era seem far more believable than this Marvel shit we have now. The amount of times SCSA stumbled/tripped on something/or someone didn't get all of something - nobody gave a shit. And it was 100x more authentic for it.
None of this: "oh no, oh no, this can't be happening, I'm hyperventilating"

Fuck mate, I'm just fuckin trying to fuckin help fuckin understand the fuckin thing

What a brutally retarded observation. Worryingly wrong.

You’re getting downvoted because Reddit, for some mystery reason which we’ll never be able to guess, can empathise more with the fat guy rather than the guy with the girlfriend.

Maybe it'll be third time lucky for Avi when he plays the "could be aliens" card on yet another thing passing through our system. I actually bought into him for Oumuamua the first time I heard about him in that it could have been some sort of solar sail but when he keeps tagging different bodies with the same schtick I start to think he's less leading-authority-at-the-frontier-of-science on this and more "aliens" dude off the History channel.

Not enough people talk about the simplicity of the shot - in particular the top-down shot. Add a bunch of grain, blurring and/or a recording of a recording and all of a sudden you've got something masking a multitude of sins and looking more authentic by crappying up the recording of the VFX. Classic hoaxer's move.

How many "R"s are in the word strawberry?

WHYYY TRIPLE H, YOU SON OF A BITCH, WHYYYYY? TELL ME WHYYYY?

Saved you a click:
Amorim warned the Argentine, "listen here you lil bitch, we put you and your brother up in a lovely quaint little place in the suburbs, and by FUCK we will taketh away. So pack your little fanny bags and get the FUCK out of here, and just know that I'm leaking every word of this to the press to see how you like it. By the way, I've sold you to Burton. Should be a nice fit for you, you yellow-headed fuckhole."
United are also being linked with the prospect of signing Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo ahead of this summer's transfer window. Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has already indicated the club will be prepared to sell attacker Bryan Mbeumo this summer amid fresh reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

It follows a pattern of a lot of band's greatest work in that it's HEAVILY layered - i.e, you'll find new things each listen, and therefore it'll always be a more rewarding listen than more immediately accessible albums.
The Beatles had this with The White Album, Blur did it with 13 - by GOD people really need to go deep on that album and it's insane to me that it predates Kid A, Radiohead did it with Kid A and continued the layered style on Amnesiac, and TKOL.
It's my favourite kind of songwriting style because the novelty takes way longer to wear off because of how many new details you find in subsequent listens.

I'll do my best to give it a go:
- The shape of a Gorillaz album since self-titled was always something like a tapestry
- Self-titled shape-shifts from the opening track which has you thinking "ah, this is cut from that familiar Blur cloth" then you go via hip-hop, trip-hop, world music, and dub all in the mix and they nail. Every. Single. Genre along the way
- Similar story for Demon Days, but we get the Abbey Road-like finale thrown in for good measure. Another musical tapestry.
- Plastic Beach - again, tapestry, yet concept album! We get orchestral music, '70s British TV show-like intros that fuse into unrelenting hip-hop, Bobby Womack thrown into electronic music, Lou fucking Reed on a Gorillaz album...
- The rod was expertly built for one's own back at this point. Where do you go? Keep churning out tapestries that get increasingly difficult to construct - or, is making a 4th unpredictable record the most predictable thing to do in this case?
- IMO this is where Damon has been casting off the arms and legs that these incredible experimental albums have grown over the years and has been trying to get back to the core essence of what Gorillaz sounds like.
- Humanz was the first attempt at that, but IMO it had a foot in both worlds: it still had the highs of a great Gorillaz album in there, but it was too bloated overall and it needed simplified even further
- The Now Now - wow. That's a bare Gorillaz record and a half. It took me YEARS to understand this album and I simply couldn't entertain it because it felt too stripped back and too basic. But I get it now. The KROQ acoustic set opened my eyes to exactly what Damon was aiming for - the pure essence of the Gorillaz sound
- Song Machine - the album that Humanz should have been. Effortlessly Gorillaz.
- Cracker Island - most people don't see it, but this IS the spiritual successor to The Now Now. The test is - if you put any other artists' name on this album, eg a Billie Eilish etc, you have a superbly crafted, focused album in your hands. Gorillaz and their early run of these huge, broad spectrum albums makes something like a Cracker Island seem inadequate in terms of its scope - the thing is: it isn't inadequate at all. For most artists, this is their masterpiece
- IMO this is where Damon has been casting off the arms and legs that these incredible experimental albums have grown over the years and has been trying to get back to the core essence of what Gorillaz sounds like.
Anyway, that's my attempt and I'm sure I missed the point along the way. In short: the expectation of what a Gorillaz album has changed from the source itself, and Cracker Island is a great Gorillaz album.

I'm with you. It's hard to describe, but growing up with them and watching them grow from The Bends to OKC in realtime, then to Kid A and Amnesiac was just jaw-on-the-floor stuff. It can't be stressed enough.
Even though I love HTTT, it felt like a bit of a "oh... we're going back to guitar music after all of that?" kinda move, then In Rainbows felt somewhat safe again. I really do love both albums, yet the over the top love for In Rainbows is like people watching The Beatles go on a journey from Rubber Soul → Revolver → Sgt Peppers → The White Album only for a late stage fan to drop in and say that Let It Be is unquestionably the best album and it can't be touched.
Let It Be is amazing, but when you look at what the other albums were doing it's just like "oh really? You think that's the best one of the lot?"
Again - struggling to put it into words, but something like that.

I love this response, and I appreciate you so much for being one of the few to know the ACTUAL back story of Blur and Nardwuar - and the fact that he fully deserved what he got during the second interview. Nardy the little rat has subsequently tried to bury all evidence of the first interview because he looks like a fucking creep that would get cancelled in seconds, but he still laps up the sympathy for the second interview. Sad little man. I still get weird nardwuar fans replying to my comments months and years after I mention this stuff.
Same. I was debating about whether to go PS5 or Switch 2. Thanks to this guy I'm going to go both.
