Is there any possibility that your mother-in-law was in some pain from her injury? There are times when my husband had to leave a function rather abruptly due to his medical condition.

Original poster here. I am taking a T break right now. I was getting high but I wasn't getting the kind of high that I wanted. I'm in a not legal state visiting relatives who don't like smoking. I love them anyway. By the way, I'm an old lady.

Everybody take the money and vote Democrat. F*** Trump and the horse he rode in on.

I watched male turkeys in full display promenade before their flock. I saw a great horned owl tilt her head down to look at me. I've seen a whiteout blizzard roll toward me in upstate New York and spectacular sunrises in Colorado. I've seen rabbits leaping over each other in some sort of dominance display. I've seen a person born and my mother, my brother and my husband die. I've seen two lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses.

Thanks for all the great advice. I talked to my sister and she also recommended that I wait until after the vacation. That's what I'm going to do. After all I'll still be fat in a month. :-)

I really wish I qualified for the Bridge program. I meet the BMI qualification but I have had severe sleep apnea for the last 10 years or so and do very well on CPAP unit. Apparently controllable by other means is a disqualification for the Bridge program. I could get a prescription but my plan doesn't . It's nice to hear that many people my age having good results from this. I'm 75 and I wasn't sure if this would even work for me. Has anyone been able to get on the bridge program due to sleep apnea even if they're able to use a CPAP? I just assume that was a no-go but maybe I should check with my sleep clinic. In any case, I am thinking strongly about trying it for 3 months out of pocket.

I miss skunky weed so bad! Ah, for the good old days when my cannabis receptors were young and the smell of skunk was everywhere.

I keep reading comments stating one of the reasons people vote for Trump is they think they're going to be part of the 1% someday. I don't think that's a very big reason people vote for Trump. I think it's a lot more about resentment. There are people, and I am related to some of them, who resent any success by anyone else like it was stolen from them personally. They strongly believe that anybody successful probably used unfair tactics to get there but would be more than willing to cheat if they thought they wouldn't get caught. They are people with no class and very few morals and they like Trump because he's a rich man who's acts like they would if they were rich.

I'm 75. I have several nice pieces of mid-century modern furniture including a beautiful Danish modern credenza. I collected a lot of mid-century modern glass during my time. Many of pieces are lovely. All my relatives have already declined and I totally understand. This stuff is fussy and it doesn't fit their lifestyle. I really don't want these things going to the dump or to the Goodwill. I guess I'm going to try to sell them. There are a couple of mid-century modern dealers in town and they may be interested in a really good deal.

Clever writing. You totally nailed the entitled whine.

Before I retired at 70, I was the go-to person for Excel help in my organization. I taught myself Excel by using the internet. I wonder how long it will be before the culture stops assuming that anybody, but specially women, over 60 is an idiot around technology.

I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying the reread. I read it at about the same age in 1967. It made me question a lot of things I had just taken for granted. It's not an exaggeration to say it changed my life. I've kind of been afraid to reread it.

A spot about the size of a pencil eraser but without very much dome. I thought I would be watching the inside of my eyelids dance to the music. Not quite there yet

Yes this is after a hospital stay. He is only in for a couple of weeks. You are so right about OT and PT. I am working to set up the bedroom so it works better for both of us. It just takes time to find out what works and what doesn't. It's a small house so there isn't much private space. That's one of the reasons this is such an important break for me.

That sounds like a really good idea. Thank you

As someone else suggested, call the council and aging for your area. They are extremely helpful. They may even be able to pick you up at the hospital and take you home. As for your cats, they will be fine for a couple of days. I also second getting auto water dispenser. Good luck with your surgery.

Found a caregiver! Birthday's still a couple of months away but this is a chance too good to miss. Got some Sherbanger and BK OG. Any thoughts on which one to try first? Obviously I won't be trying them both at the same time.
If Democrats take the Senate they'll be able to prevent Trump from appointing any more Supreme Court Justices should a couple of the sitting ones find it more advantageous to retire while Trump is in office.
