Hell no, just the whole setup with the controller is a huge privacy nightmare.

I have used the shelf hosted controller and running on a router from them and the now deprecated selfhosted solution was decent, but the router with the build in controller was a fucking joke, only allowed self signed certs, only allowed automatic backup to cloud, had public control through app by default and I don’t for a second trust that disabling it actually prevents ubiquity from controlling my device since they have a public facing ehternet port right there on the device.

The new selfhosted solution is basically them borging entire machine and I refuse to submit to it.

Ubiquity is right now probably my biggest tech regret.

Im pretty much required by my government to have a smartphone and the option we have there is iOS and Android.

Technically there is other options, but for most people we have pick between iOS android, both real shitty options if you ask me.

If there is a safe way to upload them to apples servers then there are safe ways to store them other places as well. I didn’t want a random app to copy files I wanted choices when using the build in backup system

Eu really needs to wake up on this.. last time I checked neither android or iOS had a real build in option to backup to anything other than their own systems and that is fucking bull shit.

I hate the fucking eagles man..

And somehow think that is freedom..

Wait varnish? There is something beautiful about a linux wiki use Varnish..

Can’t be very funny if they have to tell people they are funny.

Or that these situations ever occur. I never get stuck behind a group of mamls when I drive, but I hear a lot of people complaining about them.

crusader-kenned

It’s pretty easy to be first if you just do dumb enough shit..

Fuel pumps would just run dry when ever the price of gasoline was above the cap.

As I grew up I realised that right wing politics makes no fucking sense.

crusader-kenned

Nixos, no need to debate..

Dude computers peaked in the 70’s and it has just been a race to the bottom since as they tried to make it appealing to normies.

People that disagree are just too tech illiterate to get it.

crusader-kenned

What’s even more dumb; LLMs can’t count, it either has to build a tool to parse the file and count the characters or straight up lie.

crusader-kenned

Wow very long very unfunny..

Walks into a bar.

Shit my car from 2014 probably isn’t worth 3500 dollars.. 😆

Is that normal insurance or are you driving some crazy fast car?

Just about the same, I keep a lot of just files and scripts because I find “code” is the only useful documentation. (Tbf I might sprinkle in some comments but I never use them to describe what but always why, the “code” has to be expressive enough on its own)

crusader-kenned

No, it might have changed since I last used PT, but back than it was so much just a digital tape machine that any other program could replace it.

Voice actor has to be a real high risk job.. I fell like I hear about a lot of them passing..

crusader-kenned

Yeah, not sure it really solves everything. Going back to a regular distro feels like a lot of work when you are used to a declarative distro..

crusader-kenned

Nice, I’m actually just installed another distro yesterday on a separate drive to test a few things and it looks like the whole xruns issue is something with my nix setup.

On my current nix setup dragonfly will cause xruns at 512 samples, in pop_os it doesn’t.

crusader-kenned

gave it a quick try, cant really get jack2 to work at all.

as i said in the original post, the mainline drivers work. i dont seem to have any issues running 128 or 256 sample buffers either. (as long as i stick to bitwig plugins, anything "external" seems to give xruns regardless of large my buffer is)

crusader-kenned

ok now i have and it didnt work. it compiled and loaded just fine but bitwig refused to work with it.
