You mean tree limbs… right?

daSilverBadger

Haha same!

I automatically dismiss anything said by pdffile protectors. Michael Whatley has been associated with pdffiles, hired a convicted pdffile on his campaign, and recently had a pdffile pastor (convicted cso) offer the invocation prayer at his event.

It's increasingly obvious that healthcare as a for-profit business is killing our medical industry. Providers are f--ked, patients are f--ked, because all the money is being siphoned out of healthcare by the insurance company and executives.

Wake (Atrium) is a NON-PROFIT business. They get away with what they're doing by keeping their non-profit status, and paying these FOR profit management companies to "manage" the hospital. And, as a non-profit, they pay no property tax. They are buying up huge tracts of land in Forsyth county and continue developing new facilities because they have more money than they can spend. That cuts into the county's property tax revenue - meaning you and I pay more so that the enormously profitable non-profit doesn't have to pay anything.

It's why I'm working hard to get Ashley Bell's name out. She's an actual healthcare provider (works at Wake) running for US House here in NC-10 (Winston-Salem down to Hickory) against a MAGA arms dealer (literally) who votes with Trump 97% of the time.

For those who believe we can do much better, we'd love some help. We're about to start pushing out yard signs next weekend, and we need people to help canvas and phonebank.

The website is AB4NC.com, check out the volunteer form and/or the Events page for ways to get connected.

This seat is VERY flippable, especially as pissed as people are about what's going on. Sorry for the political commentary - but this is an issue that is 100% fixable if we get actual medical professionals into office to fix our sh-tty healthcare system.

New Radicals.
They went on to do some cool work separately after, but I had the entire Maybe You’ve Brainwashed Too album on repeat for almost an entire year.

Second both of these reviews. Rattle & Hum is reliable, responsible, and while not the cheapest shop, knowing I can drop my car off and not get gouged is worth it.
If you know specifically what needs to be done and just want the cheapest mechanic to do it, I recommend Precision Care Auto Tune on Peter’s Creek near Marketplace Mall. They don’t do everything but the shop manager knows his business and the quotes have been spot on.

This is a huge win for Rural Hall residents, and a huge win for issue-based, non-partisan community organizing.

Our group pulled together people from across the political spectrum, from the Conservative Women of Forsyth County to the Sierra Club, and everyone in between, including plenty of folks who have no interest in politics at all.

This is one of the most dedicated community movements I’ve ever been part of, and I’m damn proud of everyone who showed up for it.

I also want to thank the commissioners themselves. This was not an easy issue, and they worked hard on it: meeting for hours in preparation for tonight’s vote, engaging with residents, and reading through hundreds of emails over the past few weeks. Whichever way any individual commissioner voted, that kind of engagement on a genuinely difficult topic deserves recognition.

I won’t wax on about what this means in our current era of partisan politics, but I will say this: there’s still room for people who disagree on plenty to work together effectively on what matters to everyone. If there’s a path back from winner-take-all politics, this is it.

Ah man you got so close.

Stick around a little while yet. If you’re located around Winston Salem, we need your vote and support for Ashley Bell who’s running to unseat Pat Harrigan in District 10. If we can get some donors we can absolutely flip this seat! There are three NC House contests who have a shot at flipping their R opponents too. And come say hi for the Pride Parade on the 13th - WS has the biggest Pride Festival in the state and it’s always a grand time. I’ll be the glitter-clad giant. Hard to miss. AB4NC.com

The family who stands to get a metric crap ton of money has people trying to drum up support, and of course the developer will find some local stooges to pay to stand up and praise the idea.

Calling my neighbors in #forsythcounty #northcarolina, who are opposed to the Rural Hall #datacenter plan. The City/County Planning Board hearing is June 11th, and we need YOUR support!

I’m an IT engineer; I have to use AI as a requirement of my job. I'm not totally opposed to data centers, if they're built responsibly - to the environment and to the local economy.

This is a horrible plan. It’s badly designed, improperly zoned, is located literally blocks from downtown in an area the planning board already has developed a mixed-use plan for, and throws all the infrastructure costs onto residential consumers.

There’s no tax benefit to the community for six years; the developer doesn’t yet have a tenant lined up; the only jobs will be a handful of low-paying technicians and a few security guards - all the knowledge workers are remote from India. And on top of all that, it’s completely surrounded by peaceful suburban houses whose backyards literally abut the property - a property that will be surrounded by razor wire and brightly lit, with diesel generators and giant chillers on the roof. It will dominate the skyline to the west of Main Street.

Terrible plan.

No value returned to Forsyth County.

Destroying the neighborhood and property values.

That’s why I’m heavily opposed to this specific plan.

I invite our planning board to make a sign check visit, and our county commissioners to take a short drive up to Rural Hall and look at the property and the many families living directly next to it. See in your mind's eye what it would be like to live next to a loud, bright, 65' tall warehouse.

Target and Chi-Fil-A, for the reasons.

Hi all - dropping in with an update. We have a very well-equipped and organized opposition group forming. With some additional support, we have a good chance of not only blocking this project, but in getting a moratorium in place for Forsyth County until proper guidelines and zoning restrictions can be put into place.
If you're interested in joining this grassroots group, the next meeting is Wednesday, the 22nd, at 6 pm at the Rural Hall Library.
We are maintaining security for strategic planning, but there's a facebook group available for some of the more public-facing conversations. If you come to the meeting, there's a guy there who records the meetings for archive purposes. He can get you connected to the Signal chats if you'd like to be more involved.

EDIT: Forgot to reference the FB group. Search for the No Data Center Rural Hall group.

You create a M365 group which includes a shared mailbox, calendar, and sharepoint library. (easier to manage - best if you have a lot of public folders).

Or a shared mailbox with automapping to make it easier for your users to find (good option if you only have a few public folders).

…said the IT guy who wants to use a file retriever and see what you’ve been up to ~s As an IT admin myself, I don’t really care if you wipe or not, I’m going to wipe it anyways. But when I send mine back, it’s absolutely getting a full wipe before it goes to the shipper.

A man goes up to a newspaper stand, buys a copy of the New York Times, takes one look at the front page, frowns, and throws it away. Day after day, he buys the Times and throws it away without opening the paper.

Finally, the newsman asks him, "Why do you keep buying a paper and not reading it?"

The man replies, "I'm looking for an obituary."

"But there aren't any obituaries on the front page."

"This one will be."

Update2: Only thing we've found so far is to just pause updates temporarily in the hope MS releases a fix soon. Here's the script to do that:

reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings" /v PauseUpdates /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings" /v PauseUpdatesStartTime /t REG_SZ /d "%date%" /f
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings" /v PauseUpdatesExpiryTime /t REG_SZ /d "2023-02-06" /f
net stop wuauserv & net stop bits & net start wuauserv & net start bits

And here's the bug report if you want to track progress: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-25H2#3760msgdesc

For those running into this issue - we have a thread with workarounds going here. https://www.reddit.com/r/AZURE/comments/1qd0gf9/resolving_azure_authentication_error_0x80080005/

Update: Because this is a security update, Microsoft won't be issuing a Known Issue Rollback (KIR). And it appears to be a mandatory update - the normal blocking script doesn't work. We're doing some testing to see if modifying the update rings for our customers that are AAD/Intune joined, but again, it being a mandatory update might not bear fruit.

daSilverBadger

Great tip - I'll check whether our session hosts have the patch applied.

It's an old chestnut, but it literally happened to me. I had a user call me reporting their monitor won't turn on.

I asked them to check the power cable at both ends. They said they can't see under their desk because it's too dark. I asked if they could turn the lights on? They said they can't, the power is out.

That's not just not having a clue. That's in the "be careful you don't forget how to breathe" territory.
