Yeah, I think it's a number that most people have trouble wrapping their heads around. If you have a billion dollars, you can give away a million of it, and you still basically have a billion. It's such a massive amount of money that it's hard to comprehend. A million just isn't the same. In a lot of places in the country, the average house can cost nearly a million to buy. You can be a millionaire and not necessarily be wealthy, depending on where you live.

There must be a way to remove the knob. Look around it for something you can press on to detach the knob.

Extremely unlikely. It's possible that they could evolve to become more intelligent and have more human-like traits, but they'd evolve along a different line of ancestors, so they would never be genetically identical to humans. Look up convergent evolution if you're interested in that kind of thing.

Opioids are a drug that binds to a certain receptor in your brain. The main purpose is that it causes pain relief, but also causes feelings of happiness and peace. It blocks the receptors in your brain that signal pain and how your body senses discomfort. It can also make you feel sleepy. These effects become more intense if you take more of the drug.

There's not a lot of detail or context here. It's a pretty basic question though, so yes. If you eat too many calories, more than your body needs to function normally, then the excess will be stored as body fat. There's not enough information here to say precisely if eating these yogurts caused you to gain weight, but that's how it works.

A loop has to start somewhere. Kyle didn't originally exist when John was born. Kyle was born after John.
darklogic85
This is how I understand it as well. However, I also don't think it makes sense. How could John have ever existed for this loop to start? It would mean that his father would have had to have been a different person to start with in order for him to exist.

The white minivan is the idiot. The blue Chevy was braking because the white minivan came to a stop and was in two lanes. The Chevy didn't intentionally brake check you, but they braked for safety, since the minivan's driving was unpredictable.

Current death toll is around 700k. Total estimated future deaths are potentially up to 14 million.

Wow, that was unexpected. Did this person survive?

I didn't like edibles because of how long it lasted. The only time I tried edible gummies, I ate two, and it didn't seem to be doing much after about 20-30 minutes, so I ate two more. Big mistake, because having 4 was too much. I'm not sure how much it was in terms of the dosage, but the recommended amount to eat was one. I was totally freaked out sitting on my couch, and it lasted like 6 hours. I just sat there staring straight forward for the whole time thinking I was going to die. I would have benefitted from having a seatbelt on my couch.

Yeah, it's more common than a lot of people realize. It always sounds bizarre for a person to be racist against their own race, but it happens. In the past few years, now that racists have an outspoken leader in power that allows them to be themselves, they can be proudly and publicly racist, so we're see more of these kinds of people speaking up now.
At least in the US, this is the case. Not sure how much the US president impacts the behavior of racists and bigots in other countries.

Why are they even in there? Isn't this something that can just be handled entirely by the crane?

I'm pretty average at 6' tall. I'm 41 years old and I've very rarely ever been asked my height in person. Usually there's some legitimate reason behind it, like I'm at a doctor appointment and they need it for medical reasons, etc. I don't think I've ever just had someone casually ask me how tall I am.

Yeah, I have an old air popper too, but different brand. Interestingly, it also has a really short cord. It's like 18 inches long. I don't know why, but is that just an air popper thing? I wish mine had a longer cord too.
darklogic85
Wow, that's awful. I've heard of this happening, but never knew anyone it happened to. How deep did it go?
Another concern with carbon arrows to be aware of is that they splinter into tons of tiny pieces, so you can potentially end with tons of tiny splinters left in your skin.

I agree with this and it is a relatively low chance, but at the same time, the number of children who have experienced a school shooting really should be 0 in 100,000. Any number is unacceptable and worth enacting change, and our country needs to do better.

That actually seems like it could be dangerous if this is a tackle football league. He could seriously hurt kids that are 1/3 of his weight.

You've come to the right place! I'm sure us citizens of Reddit can help you identify what's in your boyfriend's ass more quickly than asking him directly. I'm going to guess he has hemorrhoids and stuffed some gause in there to stop the blood from getting on his clothes.

This person sucks. She just repeatedly insults you and doesn't seem to be aware she's doing it.

I think it's more about the way they combine the ingredients. The ingredients originated in Mexico, but the items they're selling aren't Mexican. If you tried to order a crunchwrap supreme or mexican pizza at a restaurant in Mexico, they'd have no idea what you're talking about.
darklogic85
I don't believe they're mocking it. It's Mexican inspired food for American customers. It's stuff that appeals to their typical customers and their intent isn't to insult Mexican cuisine. They're simply trying to create food that people will enjoy and buy. A lot of restaurants do this in all different countries. They'll take original styles of food and then create their own take on it that appeals more to the locals in that area. There are some really interesting foods you can find in China that originated from western countries. For example, things like pizzas and hamburgers, but made to appeal to the asian market can be pretty interesting. It's not something to get offended by and I don't think that's ever the reason those restaurants are doing it. Taco Bell also isn't claiming that their food is authentic Mexican food, so they're not hiding what they're selling or trying to do a bait and switch.
darklogic85
This is how I see it as well. I'm all for saving money on energy, but that's assuming that I HAVE to buy a new appliance. Already owning the older appliance, I think I'd rather just pay the extra $50 energy cost per year, than to buy a new fridge. The new fridge may fail before the energy savings offset the purchase cost.

I think what makes it feel like that for the grocery stores around me, is their store design. The entrance doors only open if you're coming into the store. To get to the exit doors, you have to go through the checkout lines. It's not difficult to just walk through a closed checkout line if you want to exit without buying anything, but the path you take to get out is still a bit awkward, since you can't just go back the way you came in. It feels like you're stealing something by walking past the checkout lines and around all the cashiers and going straight to the exit.
Watch some youtube videos on it and try to follow it as best you can. The only thing you likely can't replicate is the high BTU burners that restaurants have, but everything else is just proper preparation and method. The biggest thing that makes a difference and most people don't do, is to make sure you're using old rice. Fried rice is traditionally made with cold rice from the refrigerator that's dried out a bit. If you use freshly made rice from the rice cooker, it'll be too soft and sticky and won't make good fried rice.
