Yeah you might be right about the card deck. But still, I was not a plant, and I had no foreknowledge that I would be receiving the balloon.

No, the cards do not need to be in any particular order for the trick to work. If the cards needed to be in a particular order, there's simply too much chance for the order to get messed up. Maybe the person drops them on the floor. Maybe the person, like you, suspects this and shuffles the deck differently? Or they get confused (since it's a lot of shuffling) and make an error.

You're making it much more complicated than what it is.

I got the balloon, and the cards were in deck order. I happened to check because I only saw one joker when he told us to toss away the two jokers, and I was wondering what happened to the second one... I had accidentally left it behind when taking the cards out.

I was just on it, I had so much fun I searched him on Reddit so I came up with this thread.

But I just wanted to say that I was on the receiving end of a balloon at the end, and I'm not a plant.

I think the show was really cool though.

That's not on the deck of the Estonia, but rather the bottom of the hull. The ship had capsized completely and was upside down in the water for few moments before sinking.
