When Hef’s first opened I went a couple of times. Their burgers tasted exactly like the burgers my mom made when I was a kid. It was a nice nostalgia moment for me, but my mom was not the best burger maker ever (sorry, mom, I love you). So they’re not my favorite. Lucy’s, though, definitely toward the top of my list.

They’re not bad, but if I’m going to Lytle there’s usually things I’d rather have on the menu than their burger. So I guess I never think about that being high on my list.

I do love me a future bird.

To answer my own question, I think Winchesters has the best burger in town. The bacon especially is amazing.

Used to be my favorite burger when I was in college. A bunch of us would load up and make the trek out there just for burgers. The bun in particular was really good. I think Lucy’s matched them on the bun though.

Those Cordry Rocks are essential!

So you can read any story in Side Jobs if you're done with Changes. They're all set before or right after Changes. At the very least I'd strongly encourage reading Aftermath before continuing on. It is a good setup for some of what's going on in Ghost Story.
For Brief Cases, a bit more than half the stories (including all 3 Bigfoot stories) are set before the point you've gotten to. So you can read those now if you want. Just stop when you get to Bombshells which is the first post-Ghost Story story.

Is it even possible to have an "on the side" undercover gig? Like seriously going undercover is a pretty all-encompassing effort. I don't think you can do your regular job (particularly when Nick's doesn't have regular hours) and somehow still work as an undercover operative for the CIA. The way the whole thing was being couched seems really strange to me.

I go to Turner Dental. They take my insurance and have always been very nice and easy to work with. That being said, I don't have the same issues as you. So no clue how they'd respond.

That is a great option I hadn't even considered.

My first job out of college I was still living with my mom. I paid half the bills, but I had a lot more coming in than going out, and I knew within the next few years my old beater was going to give out completely. So I started taking all the money I would have paid in rent for a 1-bedroom and putting it into an account to buy a brand new car (this was a big deal, and I was very proud, no one in my immediate family had ever been able to afford to buy a car that wasn't well-used).
Just under 2 years later I had $15K, and my car started having serious issues. So the time had come. I couldn't quite afford to buy the car I wanted outright, but the loan was going to be small enough that my monthly payments would be well within my means even with my plans to move out shortly and start paying all of my own bills.
It was a battle at the dealership. When the salesperson found out I planned to put 15K down he said, "I'd hate for you to put that much money down," and I was like, "Why? That's what I saved it up for." He and his manager came up with every excuse in the book, even going so far as to say that no lender would give me a loan as small as 4K, despite the fact that they were financing used vehicles on the lot that cost less than that.
At one point the payment they were coming back with was actually a tiny bit over what my target was for a monthly payment in order to leave me feeling financially secure. So I was like, I actually have a bit more saved up I was holding back, but what if I added another $500 to the down payment? Would that get the monthly payment down a bit more? And he came back and said his manager was flat-out refusing to finance $3500, and that he'd been told to tell me if I was really concerned, I should take that $500, put it in savings, and then take money out of that every month to cover the difference between the payment they were offering and the one I wanted.
I was young and inexperienced, and today I would handle the whole thing very differently and look at other options for financing outside of just accepting whatever they were telling me, but I've never forgotten just how much they DIDN'T want my money. They wanted my debt. It's gross.

Saw someone who posted a picture of some stickers they got recently with a DS order. It confirmed that it will be October 24, and said they’ll have the new Skyward leatherbound for sale.

Exactly! They said it was poor people paying via tips. This person wasn’t poor. Didn’t tip. So it’s actually fully supporting what they said.

My biggest issue with the incredible season 3 finale was that Beard and Jane got married. She’s very clearly always been incredibly toxic, and I hated that as an ending for him.
I don’t like this new storyline with them either, but if it puts the final nail in the coffin of this relationship and pushes him to a place where he can be in a healthy one, then it will have been more than worth it, IMO.
datalaughing
Oh thank goodness! I was so worried I’d missed something big.

I am confused. Tonight’s episode? I thought last week was the season finale. Did I miss an episode somewhere?

Yes, and then he later came out and said that he felt the time had come when he should be moving into a more connected universe. I was there for the DSNX speech when he said with The Lost Metal “the gloves are off” when it comes to crossovers.
It’s bizarre to me that people are leaning on old statements about how it’s not yet time for his works to crossover as if those were somehow supposed to keep applying in perpetuity. It was true at the time that such things were in the future. He says that in the thing you linked. The future is here. It’s unfortunate if the passing of time is unpleasant for you.

I haven’t played it yet, but the people who developed the game are the ones who are putting out the comparisons to those two games. I assume they know what they’re talking about?

For whoever reported the post with this sentiment, thanks for making me laugh.

They did just place 1st in that USA Today top 10 list.
