Aw, is it discontinued? I have just discovered and been considered this watch.

datstartup

That watch is a unicorn.

datstartup

Only the Brave (2017). I know why the make the movie and still...

datstartup

Don't know if op has considered this watch but for me this is the best choice. His wrist is similar to mine too, 36mm is the sweet spot for field watch.

datstartup

I have suffered at least three $25 losses like this. Each time, I added to my checklist of questions to ask before buying. The seller is very dishonest though.

datstartup

Because they differ drastically in size and style, choosing the right one is easy once you know your needs. Criteria are dress watch, diver, GMT, or chrono, plus your actual wrist size.

Edit: series 8!

They started with true capacitors back in the day and later switched over to specialized rechargeable batteries. Calling them 'capacitors' in modern watches is really just an old habit left over from the early days of solar and Kinetic tech.

Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you and it is quite obvious. I once bought a Fugu where the entire dial was tilted to the bottom left which was really hard to see at the store. Luckily, they happily exchanged it for the good one I'm wearing now.

datstartup

You are right, casio is the huge name for the digital watch and modern steel gshock go way above that price.

datstartup

Since this Casio is a diver, the bezel makes it wear quite a bit smaller than a 35–37mm field watch. Most 36–37mm divers run on 18mm lugs, but this model drops down to 16mm. That narrow lug width makes finding decent aftermarket straps a hassle, and a 16mm strap can end up looking pretty skinny on the wrist.

The point isn't really to go diving with it, but just to get an affordable, compact diver with full specs without having to jump up to the price tag of a true diver like the Citizen EO2020 or EO2021.

datstartup

Really? I did use this lube and did have a chain that crack exactly like this! Shimano hg-601.

datstartup

Nah, all 40 watches in my collection are strictly divers and field watches—people tell me they all look the same, but I'm still going to stick to buying only fields and divers anyway.

datstartup

I have over 40 watches, each chosen for some distinct features like its shape, color, hands, or dial layout. I wear whatever I feel like on any given day. Since every piece was deliberate purchase, I truly enjoy looking down at whichever watch I am wearing.

datstartup

Look real to me.

datstartup

The Sixth Sense 1999.

datstartup

Yeah sure, you hate it when a bezel is set to 12 o'clock—meanwhile, my Seiko's default position is so misaligned that I have to rotate it just to keep my sanity.

datstartup

I just wanted to share my rare, anecdotal experience because people rarely think to check it. Not sure if you're having the same issue, but mine turned out to be flat MTB pedals. It was the pedal bearings—after servicing by changing bearings, the pedals were fine to put on another bike.

datstartup

Just my two cents. After replacing the BB, I still had this sound. Turned out it was my pedals. Something to check if you think you've already considered every possibility.

Thanks again for recommending Fooyin! I just installed it on my Linux and configured it—it literally does everything my old foobar2000 did. None of the other Linux players even came close. I'm so grateful for the recommendation!

datstartup

Thank you so much! I did not know it.

datstartup

foobar2000. I have a huge music library.

datstartup

You have it all! A field watch, divers, a square G-Shock, and a Seiko Speedtimer. I must say, you have a very fine watch collection. My opinion might differ from others, but I think you should just enjoy them as they are and refrain from adding any more.

If you still insist on buying more, I recommend looking into the Citizen Promaster Tough/Land lineup—specifically the BN0118 or the PMD56. They offer a very different look from what you currently have.

datstartup

Try experimenting with other Linux distros. Whether you end up sticking with Ubuntu or moving on, you'll have your answer.

I used to run Ubuntu, but I switched to Debian years ago and it’s been rock solid. I get all those benefits you have mentioned plus total reliability. I set my work PC up back on Debian 11 and have just upgraded through releases without reinstalling once. Never have to care about things under the hood too.

datstartup

The fat lugs of cushion case makes it a little bit out of proportion though - makes the band look too small than the thin lugs of the 4th picture of the Mk. 11.

datstartup

16mm lug width is too small.
