Nobody at Rivian has actually proactively contacted me for anything specific; I’ve only gotten the automatic email updates. My VIN got assigned a couple days ago and yesterday is when I noticed the delivery date

i've been trying not to drive myself crazy by thinking about the timing after seeing a number of people who reserved in the last couple month already getting to take delivery lol

I wish their timings made any sense. I made my reservation in June 2025 but wasn't invited to order until September 22. I ordered that same day (also LG) and I'm still waiting on my VIN, but I chose CC for my interior so I know the actual build will take longer for me

it’s a terrible choice for people who just want to get from point A to B as fast as they can because its a box and loses a lot of efficiency at speeds higher than about 75 mph. if you want to take a leisurely road trip and see some sights, though, it seems great to me!

That doesn’t really make sense; how fast it fills up will depend on how often the car is used, of course, but shouldn’t the number of minutes of footage per GB/TB be relatively static? This is from a few years ago but seems to suggest that, for each camera, 15 minutes of footage takes up roughly 1GB. This is from a year later and seems to back that up. That being said, I have no idea if R2’s cameras have the same or different quality and haven’t seen anything about someone doing a similar test with their car. Hopefully someone who’s taken delivery will soon

i thought for sure i’d go with catalina cove and after seeing it in person, this is exactly why i ended up going with launch green instead… i imagine it looks fantastic in the sun, but i live in the PNW where it’s cloudy most of the year. launch green was the only color i saw in person that seemed to stand up in less lighting without getting really muted/grayed

You don’t seem to understand what it means to “move the goalposts”. Racism and racial theory in general (especially white supremacy) is an extremely common tool of fascist regimes to drive populist ultranationalism, and in the context of DHH, both always come up and may as well be inextricably linked. I prefer not to beat around the bush, so yes, I’ll call him what he is early on in these conversations: a fascist.

People really seem to dislike when the word “fascist” gets dropped because they don’t know what it actually means and assume you don’t know either. The thing is, I do know what fascism is, and DHH fits the bill
