also, how am I a "grifter". I'm just posting information and opinions.

daviddisco

two different stories. both fictional guesses.

daviddisco

My point stands. The new AI data centers are almost all using closed loop system, so the water usage is not a real issue. If you want a real issue, talk about the energy usage. That truly is huge.

daviddisco

I don't make anything up. I'm just not repeating what everyone else on Reddit is saying. Take what I say, leave rReddit for two minutes and see if you can find evidence that it is or isn't made up.

daviddisco

I've made it pretty clear that to understand what is said there you need to understand what "net profit" is and what "convertible notes mean". it seems that no one here does and is just repeating the same uninformed comments.

daviddisco

Duh

daviddisco

Maybe just sharing the Claude prompt is enough these days

daviddisco

Or we don't do that and we still are fine. Speculation either way. We've been at the mercy of companies all our lives already.

daviddisco

Fixing all problems on all of my computers.

daviddisco

they all delete the embarrasing comments eventually

daviddisco

like I said you have to actually understand the words. Definitions of things such as "operating profit", "Net Profit", "accounting adjustment", "convertible notes" . If you learn a few things, you'll find out that the Reddit echo chamber is just bunch of people repeating memes they read as gospel. Take the time to learn things.

daviddisco

They are very clearly profitable if you know what a few accounting words mean. If you don't, like most people on Reddit, it sounds like they are losing money. I'm tired of explaining it but if you leave Reddit for a few minutes you might find some clear explanations.

daviddisco

They are saying that they are currently profitable. The may not stay profitable. They have huge future spending commitments and will need to grow quite a bit to be stay profitable.

daviddisco

dude. not replying to this. You are asserting what you want to believe because you can't accept any ideas that don't fit your world view. Take some time to question if you might be wrong. Go watch a video or read a book on economics. Try to learn something and grow you mind a bit.

Send your own AI to do the interview

daviddisco

The lower percentage working is mainly the aging population. The percentage of non-retired people working has increased recently. The total number of jobs has increased as well. Unemployment has stayed low.

daviddisco

take a breather and then read my earlier comment. Lower labor requirements for tasks is exactly what can end up making more jobs.

daviddisco

Ok, I see your point is about an expanding economy.

That graph is in large part tracking an aging population. Prime-age (25–54) participation, which strips out retirement is actually increasing. It was 84.1% in January 2026

Total jobs are also increasing. Nonfarm payrolls were 159.0 million in September 2026, up from roughly 132 million in 2000. Over the same period CIVPART “collapsed,” yet the economy added about 27 million jobs.

daviddisco

Not sure what your point is. None of the changes documented in that chart are related to AI.

daviddisco

Like I said, jobs are made up of tasks. Some tasks can be replaced by AI and some can't. Even a company built around AI from the ground up will have some jobs. If they use extensive AI, their products will be cheap, adding to the abundance without costing much. An expanding economy will create more jobs in the long run.

daviddisco

"Labor participation" is a way of saying who much of the pie is for labor vs capital. Labor share is going down and will likely continue to go down with out political changes. That is up to the government and democracy to handle. Destroying the growing economy will just make the pie smaller so no one will win.

daviddisco

Hi, first of all, first of all AI does not replace jobs, it replaces tasks. By replacing a task, it changes the nature of the remaining job. The worker will be more productive. Productivity increases can cause a loss of jobs but they also cause a reduction in price of the final product or service. Reductions in price increase demand, which creates more jobs. There is another process called "Job Restitution" by economists. Automation can make whole new categories of business possible that were not viable before. These processes and others can make jobs increase despite increased AI.

daviddisco

First of all, not directly related to privacy. Second of all, the way Proton message phrased it was it "may lead to changes in roles, responsibilities, and continued employment.”

daviddisco

Claude a has a 5 hour window limit and a weekly limit. I don't think there is any "daily usage limit". Just saying.

daviddisco

The Reddit echo chamber agrees with you. The economists generally say it is a real possibility though it is more likely that the net impact on AI will be small increase in jobs. I loss of jobs is also possible but less likely in the long run. In the sort run it is more possible.
