dbenc

dbenc

inference is the opposite of subsidized. once you pay for the hardware, you have to keep the subscribed tenants per machine as high as possible or you are losing money. think like paying the fixed costs for a gym. you don't care if they actually use it as long as their subscription is active, and if they were to all show up at once you're fucked. also api rates are like paying for a day pass: way more expensive per day than a subscription.

dbenc

oh... i guess i'll put my pitchfork away... :(

dbenc

op. tell him that you think these rules are so important that you are going to follow them yourself. and follow through.

dbenc

idk. i feel like there are many things you can't trivially "self control" your way out of. an extra cookie? sure. social media that has evolved to be as addictive as possible? mmmm maybe not.

dbenc

bro just ask the ai to build you a live whisper transcription service

dbenc

for pointless meetings have a live transcription running and piping into the ai so that it prompts you with smart things to say

dbenc

dbenc

dbenc

lmao i went to my bank website to request a call and when they called me i chickened out and still didn't trust the call

dbenc

ai could never

dbenc

you can abstract complexity badly and it's still an abstraction imo

dbenc

it's abstractions all the way down!

dbenc

same, bought mine at launch and kept paying for applecare. it paid for itself last month when i had a covered motherboard replacement

dbenc

lmao employees should call it the copilot layoffs. not because they are being replaced by copiliot, but because leadership is following its shitty suggestions
