If with doodies you mean defecations (poopies) then yes sometimes bp only get it all out just after the shedding has taken place! Can be considered normal :) If it's going to happen soon, wait with giving the next meal. Especially if you trust that she is a healthy weight. She may get very food motivated after the shed. Hold on tight! You're doing nothing wrong.

deamar_420

Okay! Off to a fake plant section search! Thank you :) I don't have Walmart where I live but pretty sure anything will do then

deamar_420

Seems as though an entire enclosure change will fix most of the issues, it's absolutely on the list and I got my eye on one to fix very soon. Current one is 100x50x40cm which I don't consider ideal anymore. Upgrade 120x50x50cm is what I have in mind, he's an adult at this point measuring at almost 99 cm! I measure in cm mostly, not inches. Hope it's not too confusing. Thanks again for the tips on the substrate!

Edit: I am indeed watering the corners to maintain humidity

deamar_420

Cute!! Seems to be doing well I have a question tho where did you got all those leaf vines from and what climbing enrichment is that? I thought I found similar but nothing near as this

deamar_420

Oh my, really? It's not even close to 4-6 inches! Maybe 2-3 from what I could measure over the entire enclosure. I only use one block of coco substrate every time. So you mean a thicker layer prevents scale rot? How does that work exactly? or is it because of maintaining that humidity on a thicker layer so it doesn't give scale rot?

So hot side is mostly stable at exactly the temps you're mentioning. Middle gives 24-25 C (which I really thought it should be there) and the cool side is a definite problem between 19-21 C because of the glass and current winter here. Even my room temp can't match it properly. I'm aware this is an issue and he doesn't go there most of the time.

The heat emitter has a temp on the big cave of between 32-34 C. In regards to the fixture, I see where you're coming from but he leaves it alone. Perhaps this is a cap mostly used for basking lamps and not so much for CHEs? It's only this way for now so the heat keeps going down instead of up and around. I see the concern. I will look into that when changes are about to happen enclosure wise. Best I can do now is monitor it and make small changes wherever necessary. If that means substrate, that's a definite first step!

Thanks for the concise answer! Absolutely had no idea these things could make issues. If I can do other things in the meantime I'm open to more tips.

Looks like an injury! Scalerot may appear to be more brown-ish. You could use betadine to keep it from infecting and it will fade after a shed or two!

deamar_420

That's light!! 3 years old could already weigh up to 700 grams, especially males. Small rats of 40-60 g every week for a short time until this about 700 grams. It sounds like a lot at once but if he takes and digests well, it could up his size a bit in no time! After that, same rats every 14 days! If he only takes jumbo mouse then having that every 5-7 days should do.

Otherwise feel free to check !feeding

Muffin! Eats like a champ, never rejected anything. Only caught him waiting to chomp down on the meal, checking if the coast is clear, ate 15 minutes later. Other than that, even switch from mice to rat was solid.

Looks like a pastel lesser or butter? I have bp with similar colors like yours and can tell you right off the bat this is part of the pattern, especially since it's only in the alien heads/keyholes! I was also concerned at first, but with two sheds later I realized there is nothing. You've taken everything into consideration so far _^

deamar_420

What id consider, and definitely seconding what the rest has said so far: Cornering waters for sure! Personally I like to pour any objects as well so the water spreads out everywhere around it.

For humidity if the top has gauze/mesh, I'd recommend a mat (or blanket or both) with aluminum foil underneath and hold it with tape. Works wonders, I did it too! Do make sure there's ways to ventilate still. Real little plants can also do much of the humidity and oxygen job but takes extra steps. Hope it works out for ya!

deamar_420

First one looks Enchi Axanthic but the second one looks just enchi. Lighting matters so a bit hard to tell for me 😅 If the second is more correct and he is brown-ish then only thinking enchi because the brown patterns connect on the back on each side! Normals don't typically have that afaik

deamar_420

okay that's good to hear! maybe I should've worded it better. do wash your hands like you're used to! XD what I meant avoid to soap that area mostly. keeping an eye on it is still the best you can do. good luck!

deamar_420

I'd think everybody's skin reacts differently to a bite and how it heals. The way you describe it seems to commonly occur from punctures, in this case their needle teeth. I also consider it normal. Similar what nettles needles can do and may take another week to recover! Regularly washing your hands with soap can worsen the itch because of the soap. I hope you can find something else to calm the itch!

deamar_420

Thank you! I have a similar log. Seems like a plan for the future knowing this :-)

deamar_420

If he didn't find a warm spot, anywhere IN or behind! Most definitely in corners too! Hope you will find him eventually

deamar_420

That's impressive! What's the log on the wall exactly being supported by? do you have a picture of that alone? I only see metal supports but can't see what it exactly is

deamar_420

GOSH I'm jealous, looks good! As long as the noodle doesn't get 'stuck' in any of that too easily, you've really outdone yourself. I don't know much about corn snakes so not sure if all of these details would benefit it, but I know this would be heaven for a BP. Thank you for sharing where you got your stuff.

You clearly seem to know what you're doing, especially if you know the background of a cornsnake's natural habitat. I will however share this little table from ZooMed, should you ever want to improve/change or add anything. This gave me great insight as well knowing what each substrate and addons can do (ignore the highlighted aspen snake bedding, that was part of what I clicked on)

edit: I clearly misread your first sentence so I think it is about a BP. I just haven't seen it!

deamar_420

Thank you!🫶

deamar_420

Taking that the rest about him is okay! Thank you for the quick math. I'm clearly not the best with calculating percentages😅 this makes great sense and will note it down!

deamar_420

Not the greatest knowledge on morphs so random guesses: Blocky gradient on the sides and looks off-white, so guessing also yellow belly! Otherwise a random guess would be calico. Unless this is also a normal thing on spiders, then it's only just spider.

deamar_420

Yep! Very much possible. Head of a 2 year old BP is still smaller than one of 4 year old (also judging the 4yo I have). Even then the body-head ratio isn't always in line, so expect for the head to always be smaller than the rest. But yes it will grow!
