Remember that a huge portion of people are miserable right now. Our opportunities have been taken away and corporate media has convinced us we all hate each other. The veil has been removed and we are left with nothing but the clear reality that society is designed to exploit 99% of us.

You are not the only one struggling, feeling you are trying to connect with others but are unable, or feeling like you don't have a place in society.

Corporate interests have deliberately removed aspects of life that brought people together. They want us separated and miserable so their products and services are our only hope to solve our problems.

There may be other places you can go that you may fit in better but that likely is not the problem.

I think living life with the assumption others are good, and occasionally being proven wrong, is a much better reality to exist in than living life with constant suspicion others will do you wrong.

That doesn't change that it was much easier to be on the fence prior to their transgressions becoming completely blatant. The current era of Republican strategy appears to be based on the assumption that a significant portion of the electorate has no ability or desire to think critically about the information they get from conservative media.

Post COVID it seems like the business model is just understaff and trust that people are so used to everything being terrible they will keep coming back, especially if it's a franchise with a recognizable name. People have made it clear that poor service won't stop them from patronizing businesses so now it is the norm.
