"Going for a drive out Laliberte way."
I've never heard someone pronounce that name like that. Not a lick of French lol

I'm sure the English teacher would lose sleep about doing her job.

Yeeeeeah, none of those 4 options are Babcocks legacy in Toronto. I get they likely want to dance around the Marner stuff but that's 100% what comes to mind for most people now. Cmon TSN, address the elephant.
deeferg
No, /u/nfl, we don't want to see a replay of a cool play like this, just a single angle clip that makes it hard to see the toss.
I love how corporate this place continues to become. Real cool, real awesome.
deeferg
I'm pretty sure an actual boycott doesn't pick and choose what can be included.

As others have mentioned this is a tough thing to discuss. It's the same issues that people local to the safe injection sites were complaining about, of loitering and all of the people that congregate in the area.
I've moved to the area in the past year and am definitely close enough nearby to feel the effects of this shelter. I wouldn't say that it's been more noticeable since the SIS have closed, but it's definitely still a nuisance.
My partner goes to the gym and has to pass by this shelter every time, and I hate that I don't feel she's safe. I share the same concerns the parents have, and can't imagine the decision of having to send a kid to that school when they would see that some days.
I don't have the answers for it, but agree that the police should be doing much more. I'd love to see something similar to a foot patrol make an appearance, since right now is a moment where people need to have a bit more faith in the people put in charge to protect us.
deeferg
We're all asking for the police to do more. Even in the article that's one of the things that the councilors (and those running for centretown) mentioned needing more assistance from. So by all means send them an email and ask, it's what we should all be doing.

Moved here at the start of summer and was lucky enough to catch someone sitting down across the street on the sidewalk and taking out his crack pipe to get high. At 11AM. No point in mentioning it was a Tuesday, I'm sure the day of the week didn't matter to him.
Nothing more fun than deciding you shouldn't leave your house for the next 15 minutes until the guy high on crack walks away.
Edit: should add because it was mentioned below but this proceeded the safe use sights being closed, so it's not a perfect solution.
deeferg
Yeah, that line didn't really hit the way Richard might have been hoping. Just because someone was once a child doesn't mean we should continue to treat them that way, especially if they're complicating the lives of others. Unless he also thinks we should be able to force them to spend most of their days in an institution learning how to be a basic member of society again. But the last thread was sort of against forced rehab, so maybe we just treat adults as adults and leave it at that.
deeferg
Thanks, I was worried someone wasn't going to step in to speak for the corporations.
deeferg
Nah, that's more a thing you guys do better, too.
deeferg
Actually it seems like it's more than my $400M quote and almost 3 times as much as the $150M you quote.
They wanted them to walk away in the beginning, I think everyone now knows it's too far gone to turn back and that we're stuck with this bad decision. This will likely make the locals more spiteful, and less likely to attend.
You would think an insane amount of things going on in the summer and driving up tourism would increase attendance to the games. "Lots going on" isn't a reason for a regression like this after a winning season.
deeferg
Hey, could you DM them to me? I'd like to make this my first big project, thanks.
deeferg
Crazy to suggest because I got downvoted for suggesting it would happen before, but a lot of locals who came out might be unhappy about the increase in ticket costs the same year that we were told over $400M of our taxes would go to make the stadium worse and hollow out Lansdownes greenspace.
I think they lost a few supporters with OSEG making that move.

Bro is leaning halfway back into the guys seat, what do you want him to do?
deeferg
Don't believe every comment that you see. Especially from the 14 day old accounts that are posting a ton since their creation.

I don't know your professional background, but a lot of people think things like "data centres hosted in Canada" mean that the actual software as a service (SaaS) is included in the data centre. It's not, and based on what I've seen in my day to day career, there are no Canadian providers that offer the suite of options that AWS, Azure, or Google offer for cloud platforms services. This is the actual stuff that gets the videos from the Canadian hosted data centres to your computer, and if there exists Canadian providers for this sort of SaaS, the next gap is skilled workers who have used those separate products and specialize in them.
deeferg
It's absolutely fair game to go after CBC for that considering the service is only available in Canada, and plenty of domestic providers would probably love the business.
Tough to say, do any Canadian providers offer the same cloud services with the ability to scale as simply and effectively? Unfortunately it's more than just the cloud product, but also the people building it. Most of the cloud developers that CBC gem could likely afford to do that don't specialize in Canadian providers, and the ones that do come with that speciality cost as well (if the services even exist, back to point 1).
It's definitely not as simple as a lot of people might think to just build a CBC Gem product.

Sounds like you're targeting the woman with the tight top even in this post.

Unless they're signing documents with their privates, as far as I'm concerned clothes do not make someone more or less professional, only your own personal biases.
My core values are smoking meth and hailing satan, but anyone else is free to do as they please because I'm not the short-short police.

Always expects others to solve your problems
They clearly don't, you're just whining and complaining about people taking their own actions and trying to solve their problems. Seems like their solutions of a strike don't fit you so people are curious what you want.
The entitled bit just sounds like projection on your point after that. Others coming up with a solution and you just whining that you don't have any other ideas other than "just get back to work and be a wage slave".
deeferg
Nah, the Tavares penalty was worse I'd say.
2 of the worst calls I've seen
deeferg
There it is. Doppelganger.

Throwing up the deuces in a photo with the pope is something anyone would have framed on their wall forever, good for him.
Like which?
