you can't infer meaning from downvotes beyond "people disagree with this statement"

i can very much imagine people on this sub disagreeing with the first part of your comment where you dismiss a pretty reasonable explanation given

the last time I heard someone worried about pixel perfect designs was when screens were still only 1024px wide. If 1080 or 1440 are your only measuring sticks, you need to upgrade your CSS knowledge and look into responsibe web design, friend.

why are we watching Red Bull ads fam

not being a bot posting AI crap also wouldn't hurt. its a standard routine for me these days to check a poster's profile.

this profile (OP) is 1 day old and i'm not a biologist but in the pfp, OPs ears look suspiciously low

on top of that, OPs youtube channel doesnt teach anyone shit, its just someone typing in code, line by line, accompanied by some music.

Admission:  :has() is the only one I'm using so far as it's the easiest one to intuitively understand and I'm already so happy with it, I haven't even looked into the other ones yet

One day when you grow up you'll learn what due diligence means in the context of being a good netizen, or at least I hope.

You could have googled Inkscape, found the official Inkscape website and notice how they don't offer an ipad version though

dieomesieptoch

There's a whole bunch of ways to go about what you're trying to achieve so there won,t be a definitive answer to this. You could change the way you draw / trace the artwork, you could look into filters that emulate pencil sketching, you could look into various ways of distorting line work.. and that's probably not every option by quite some margin.

The biggest issue I think though: if you have zero experience using Inkscape, why take on such a task? Do you have experience in (any) other design software?

Het account dat deze post gemaakt heeft is zo te zien door Reddit gebanned, mods kunnen deze post nu wel verwijderen, me dunkt

This would be quite easy with a conic gradient but I haven't seen those in Inkscape, not sure if they ever will.

You could achieve this by using a mesh gradient, checkout this article from Logos by Nick: https://logosbynick.com/inkscape-create-conical-gradients/

edit: or, cut this piece into two or more pieces and give each piece their own gradient where each next gradient starts with the color the previous one ended on. Adjust the start and end nodes to match things up (sorta) nicely.

If you are working on a DAW I'd highly recommend outsourcing the logo design because these just ain't it. And it appears you are using the comments to promote your own subreddit, which makes this post feel a bit disingenuous in it's entirety

They don't think you're trying to scam them, rather they are trying to bully you.

TIL: making one (1) neat effect means you've mastered the language.

Even on a wide screen, Inkscape should not dictate how I order my tabs or how wide I like my sidebar to be.

dieomesieptoch

Love how the UI designers shot themselves and us in the foot this way.

A tab strip can be scrolled u guys, no need to force an arbitrary size! I've gotten used to this behavior but it sucks.

What also absolutely drives me up the wall is how the color picker has a fixed size, so even when you select something with fill undefined, that message will take up all the space of the regular voor picker, and as such, the Blue and opacity sliders alway tuck away underneath some other panel below so you have to scroll a few pixels just for those. It's infuriating.

This is not commendable whatsoever. Dude just got addicted to receiving praise or people agreeing with him and his little insights and cannot help hims of from posting this story as some kind of win. This type of dude needs 0 seconds of your attention.

dieomesieptoch

Ahhhh yes, thank you thank you thank you!

dieomesieptoch

What do you mean underrated? We all love VTs but they are just brand spanking newly Baseline available, afaik.

dieomesieptoch

All the things you mentioned can be put in the post body though

dieomesieptoch

How did your friend suggest you do learn to model then?

dieomesieptoch

My problem here is not how to achieve the desired outcome, this example is entirely arbitrary. I'm trying to understand why I am misunderstanding what is happening under the hood. When increasing the dashoffset I would expect the dashes to always move towards the next node/point. (and, should a gap form at the start, backfill it from before offset `0` to fill it up nicely again. But instead, the dashed will move to the _previous_ node/point when the offset _increases_.

u/abrahamguo offered a nice explanation from MDN but I'm simply not following -and this is on me I guess- why what's written there makes sense.

dieomesieptoch

Well it appears to be going in the exact opposite direction though. Take this example:

https://codepen.io/ikbensiep/pen/XJKgNJP

The first point it the highest, the second point is near the "3 o'clock" position, and so on, back to slightly below point 1.

In the css animation I am increasing the offset, yet contrary to what I'd expect, the dashes move counter-clockwise.
